What fun we had today in our singalong at Oakwood Court. The sun seeping through the window seemed to raise spirits and with all kinds of rhythms being played on instruments, it felt a bit like a
musical jam! We had songs by the Beatles, selected particularly by John. It was fabulous to have his daughter there accompanying him in the session. Artists also featured were Doris Day, Abba, John Denver and Neil Diamond. Residents had a jolly good time!🎶🎤☀️😍

🍂 Welcome November! 🍂

A brand-new month is here, and we have another busy and exciting week ahead at Oakwood Court! ❤️

As we welcome November, we're looking forward to making more special memories together with our residents, families, and team.

This week we'll be marking Bonfire Night on Thursday with themed activities and treats, and on Remembrance Sunday we'll be taking time to reflect, remember, and pay our respects.

Alongside our weekly activities, our talented kitchen team will be serving up another delicious menu packed with home-cooked favourites. 🍰☕

Take a look at our weekly menu and activity planner below and see what we've got in store!

We wish everyone a happy, healthy, and cosy start to November. 🍁🧡

Jean having a boogie 😁

01/11/2026

We all warmed up this morning with some chair 💺 exercises to country music 🎶.

We started with a gentle warm up of shoulder rolls and head turns. We then worked up a sweat with marching, toe tapping, bicep curls 💪 amongst other thing's.

We finished off by scarf throwing and chanting followed by a cool down and breath work.

Residents said that they felt good afterwards and ready for the day.

We then had a sing along and a boogie 😁.

In the afternoon residents enjoyed board games and wordsearches.

We was also joined by our lovely volunteer Charlotte who played game's with our resident's 🥰.

🕸👻Happy Halloween from everyone at Oakwood Court! 🕷🎃🧡
What a Spooktacular time we had this morning with staff and residents families joining in the fun 🎃👻🕸
Children in wonderful costumes looked for Pumpkin pictures on residents doors and
could 'trick or treat' at these rooms 🍬🍫
Themed activities were enjoyed by all as well as some amazing cupcakes made by Kitchen Manager, Maria 🧁🧡😋
The children paraded around the lounge and prizes were given to all for their wonderful costumes 🧙‍♀️🎃🐺🧡
A few thank you's for all those that contributed to make this event a success:
The night staff for decorating the house,
Libby for the poster & pumpkin printing,
Maria for the delicious cupcakes,
Jess for doing all the shopping and staff on duty supporting residents to attend the event and dressing up! ☠️
What a terrifyingly terrific team! 🧡👏👏🧡

We had a scream at Oakwood Court this morning getting into the Spooky season 🎃👻🕸🕷
The night staff did a devilishly good job of decorating the house last night and the residents worked frighteningly hard carving pumpkins and arranging flowers 😈😱🎃🌻🌹
The results are bone chillingly beautiful and are throughout the house for all to share and enjoy 🎃🧡
