Cowdray Arms Classic Car Club Meet Sunday 27th June at 9.30am RH17 6QD

The Cowdray Arms looks forward to welcoming you all to the Cowdray Arms Classic Car Club meet this Sunday 27th June at 9.30am. Aside from meeting like minded classic car fans you will be helping to celebrate two automobile birthdays!

It was 135 years ago in 1886 that Karl Benz was issued with a patent for a ‘Vehicle powered by gas engine.’ Generally speaking history regards this date & patent as being the advent of the motor vehicle! Birthday No. 1!!!!!

The year of 1961 marked the birth date of the Jaguar E-Type. Hence, we now celebrate Birthday No. 2 as the 60th Birthday of the Jaguar E-Type.

Our last meeting of the Cowdray Arms Classic Car Club saw a fascinating collection of classics; including a beautiful Mini Cooper S. What a wonderful example! Not forgetting the trio of Triumph Stags that also arrived on the day.

Join us on Sunday to show us your Classic and should you wish to indulge we will be serving coffee & bacon sandwiches.

The Cowdray Arms Classic Car Meeting Sunday 27th June 9.30-11.30am.

We welcome all classic car owners to join us on Sunday 27th June for our second meeting of the year, and to help celebrate a very important birthday.

What did George Best, Tony Curtis, Sid James, Donald Campbell, George Harrison and many others all have in common circa 60 years ago? Answer:- They were all owners of all the new Jaguar E-Type.

The year 2021 celebrates the 60th birthday of the Jaguar E-Type. When launched at the Earls Court Motor Show the Jaguar E~Type became an overnight world sensation. Everyone wanted one, and Jaguar made sure that the stars of the day had one to drive.

Enzo Ferrari knew a thing or two about designing great cars, but even he was to refer to the Jaguar E-Type as the prettiest car ever built! The E-Type was born directly out of the five times winning Jaguar 24 Le Mans winning cars. With a 3.8 litre engine, and available as a roadster or in coupe format, Jaguar had created an iconic sports car.

On Sunday 27th June at 9.30am and after, we look forward to welcoming you to the Cowdray Arms. Our ever popular coffee & bacon rolls will be available as before or maybe you wish to extend your stay for an early lunch.

See you on the day.

Cowdray Arms Classic Car Club

Well it’s the end of January, and I’m sure many of you have been tending to your classic cars over the winter period. On any classic car there’s always something that needs attention!

Looking through the photos of the classic cars that came to the Cowdray last year it really was such a delight to host those wonderful cars. Such a broad section of different classics.

Of course, the Cowdray are so looking forward to welcome you all back later in the year:- when the law permits. However, we at the Cowdray are busy discussing and planning on ideas for you & your classics later in the year.

Of course, lockdown has probably given some of you time to start researching the classic car market with a view to becoming involved. What’s so interesting about the current classic car market is that you don’t have to spend a fortune to become involved.

There are any amount of classics available below £5k. You can have a lot of fun for a small investment, and get your money back. You may even make a profit!

Of course, lockdown, and other restrictions, has meant that you can’t travel the country to find your classic. Well you needn’t worry. On line classic car auctions have become a great way to buy. Of course, you need to be very careful, but many of you know exactly what you are looking for. Additionally many classic car dealerships will deliver to your address as part of their revised business service.

Well now all of you stay safe, and the Cowdray will continue to keep you updated with our classic car plans!
