After 11 years of hard work, Sian and Simon have revitalised the Griffin into an award winning pub/restaurant specialising in seafood. With roaring log fires in the winter and eating out on the alfresco terrace in the summer enjoying the spectacular sea view whilst watching a selection of fresh seafood en route from the Haven straight to your plate a few hours later – there is quite simply no better place to enjoy your locally caught seafood! Creating a family friendly village local and a welcome retreat for all who enjoy good conversation, food and drink. The deliberately informal atmosphere and fabulous friendly service only add to it, offering a memorable eating experience, that has won the Griffin many accolades. Local fishermen & suppliers make for a bursting seafood specials board to suit all. The Griffin offers a vast range of simple fresh seafood dishes from mackerel to turbot, razor clams to scallops, crab to lobster or other treasures the sea throws at us. In addition, the Griffin has a pub classic menu with an excellent choice of home-cooked locally sourced food to suit all tastes including vegetarian dishes and a children’s menu. The wine menu offers a fabulous selection of quality wines and The Griffin has also developed a reputation serving quality real welsh ales.

Behind every great meal is a great team. ❤️

At the end of an incredibly busy summer and Bank Holiday weekend, we thought it was only right to bring our hard working, dedicated kitchen team out into the dining room and give them the applause they deserved. 👏🏻

And then we received this wonderful review from Amanda:

“From the moment we arrived at your beautiful premises, the staff were welcoming, delightful and very professional. The food was outstanding - truly delicious! The w**e was also superb! At the end of a busy season, and a fully booked bank holiday weekend, it was delightful and so very endearing to share the moment when the owner invited the hardworking and dedicated kitchen staff out to receive a well deserved applaud from the appreciative diners. The weather certainly wasn’t on our side for the whole weekend… but thankfully the rain and wind held off for Sick Sharks! 🙌☀️

Eclipse at The Griffin 🌙🌒

Tonight, Dale is the place to be! ✨

With this view, there’s nowhere better to watch tonight’s Solar Eclipse than from the Griffin Wall, with a pint in hand and the sea stretching out in front of you. 🍻🌊

🌙 Eclipse begins: 6:15pm
☀️ Maximum eclipse: 7:12pm — with around 90–94% of the Sun obscured
🌙 Eclipse ends: 8:06pm

Expect the light to change dramatically as the Moon moves across the Sun... almost like dusk arriving early.

So grab a pint, head outside, find your spot on the wall and look up! 🍻✨

The perfect place to watch the eclipse over Dale Bay.

Please remember to use proper solar eclipse glasses when looking towards the Sun.

The faces behind your dinner… 👨‍🍳😂

They clean up alright, don’t they?!

From pot to plate… 🦞🍋

This doesn’t happen very often.
Our local lobster fishermen pulled this beautiful crayfish from his pot this week... a rare catch in our waters and a real treat to experience.

Crayfish are more commonly associated with slightly warmer seas, so perhaps the changing water temperatures are bringing a few more visitors our way. Whatever the reason, we certainly weren’t complaining!

Simply served with a squeeze of fresh lemon and enjoyed on the Griffin wall overlooking Dale Bay. It doesn’t get much fresher than this.

We’re incredibly lucky to have local fishermen bringing us the very best the sea has to offer, and moments like these are a reminder of why we love what we do.

Would you choose crayfish over lobster...?

🌒 Something rather special is happening…

If the skies stay clear, Wednesday 12th August will bring one of the UK’s most impressive natural spectacles, a partial solar eclipse, with around 94% of the Sun expected to be covered here in Pembrokeshire.

Join us at The Griffin for an early evening drink or supper, then step outside to watch the eclipse unfold. If you fancy an even wider view of the western horizon, West Dale is just a short stroll away.

🌒 Begins: 6.15pm
🌘 Maximum: 7.13pm
🌑 Ends: Shortly after 8pm

Whether you’re watching from our seafront or wandering across the peninsula, let’s hope for clear skies. 🤞✨

⚠️ Please remember to use certified eclipse glasses or another safe viewing method. Never look directly at the Sun.
