After 11 years of hard work, Sian and Simon have revitalised the Griffin into an award winning pub/restaurant specialising in seafood. With roaring log fires in the winter and eating out on the alfresco terrace in the summer enjoying the spectacular sea view whilst watching a selection of fresh seafood en route from the Haven straight to your plate a few hours later – there is quite simply no better place to enjoy your locally caught seafood! Creating a family friendly village local and a welcome retreat for all who enjoy good conversation, food and drink. The deliberately informal atmosphere and fabulous friendly service only add to it, offering a memorable eating experience, that has won the Griffin many accolades. Local fishermen & suppliers make for a bursting seafood specials board to suit all. The Griffin offers a vast range of simple fresh seafood dishes from mackerel to turbot, razor clams to scallops, crab to lobster or other treasures the sea throws at us. In addition, the Griffin has a pub classic menu with an excellent choice of home-cooked locally sourced food to suit all tastes including vegetarian dishes and a children’s menu. The wine menu offers a fabulous selection of quality wines and The Griffin has also developed a reputation serving quality real welsh ales.

A little thank you from us all ❤️

From Simon, Sian and the whole Griffin team, we just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the lovely messages and comments following the Visit Pembrokeshire Croeso Awards.

We are absolutely thrilled to have been named Pub of the Year 2026. It’s been a brilliant year, made all the more special by the wonderful team we’ve had around us. We’re incredibly proud of everyone and this award belongs to them just as much as it does to us.

We’ll be finding somewhere very special for it in the pub! 🏆

A big thank you to Templeton B**r W**e & Spirits for sponsoring our category and choosing us, and to Visit Pembrokeshire and the Croeso Awards team for putting on such a fantastic evening.

As we head towards the end of the season, we’re not quite hanging up our aprons yet! We’ll be open weekends right through to Christmas, when we’ll be opening most days to celebrate the festive season with you.

❤️ A little Sunday pause at The Griffin…

Our kitchen is closed today (Sunday) as we take a little breather at the end of the season... bar is open from 4pm!

Dale is looking a little different now. Gone are the busy summer days of boats bobbing in the bay, the pontoon full and the Griffin Wall buzzing. In their place, there’s a beautiful calm, still waters and the sound of the seabirds. 🌊

But don’t think The Griffin has gone quiet!

The fires are roaring, the glasses are clinking and the pub is still full of warmth, laughter and a wonderful weekend buzz. 🔥

We’re open every weekend, Friday afternoon to Sunday evening, right up until Christmas.

And keeping a watchful eye on proceedings is Guinness (aka Nessie), our very own Griffin pub dog! 🐾

Quieter outside, still buzzing inside.

🏆 WHAT A NIGHT! 🥂✨

What a wonderful evening at the Croeso Awards, celebrating the very best of Pembrokeshire tourism and hospitality. ❤️

A huge thank you to the organisers for putting on such a fantastic event, and congratulations to all the finalists and winners. It was lovely to celebrate alongside so many brilliant people who make Pembrokeshire such a special place to visit. 🌊

We were absolutely delighted to bring home Best Pub in Pembrokeshire for The Griffin. After 16 years of running our little coastal pub in Dale, through all the highs, lows, challenges and unforgettable moments, this recognition means more than we can say. 🥹❤️

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way, from our wonderful customers and loyal locals to the suppliers, friends and family who are part of our journey.

And, of course, a special mention to our amazing Griffin team (or should I say our Griffin family) one of the best and and fun teams we have had🥂 Hospitality is hard work, and it was so lovely to put the day-to-day running of the pub aside, dress up, dance around and celebrate 🎉 💃

🏆✨ A LITTLE NOTICE FOR THURSDAY NIGHT! ✨🥂

Our kitchen will be closed this Thursday evening, but our bar will remain open, with bar snacks available for anyone popping in for a drink! 🍻

And here’s why… We’re taking some of our incredible team to the awards! ❤️

We’re absolutely delighted to be attending Visit Pembrokeshire's Croeso Awards 2026 and we’re keeping everything crossed for a very special evening! 🤞🏆

After 16 years of running The Griffin here in beautiful Dale, we couldn’t be prouder of the people who make our pub what it is.

Running an independent coastal pub certainly has its challenges. We’ve weathered plenty of storms, navigated the incredibly difficult years of COVID and experienced our fair share of highs and lows. But 16 years on, we’re still here, still doing what we love and still welcoming you all to our little hidden gem corner of the Pembrokeshire coast.

We’re also incredibly proud to be part of such a fantastic hospitality community, alongside so many wonderful pubs and businesses in Pembrokeshire and up for awards themselves.

Whatever Thursday night brings, we’re already proud of our team and everything we’ve achieved together.

There’s a little change in the air here in Dale 🌊🍂

Our pontoon has been packed away for the season, and the bay is taking on its quieter autumn feel.

But we’re not quite ready to hibernate! The Griffin is still open, serving up our local seafood, pub favourites and a warm welcome by the water.

October opening hours: Tuesday–Sunday.

November: Open weekends through to Christmas.

So whether you’re out for a coastal walk, exploring Pembrokeshire or simply fancy a good lunch or pint by the sea, pop in and see us. We’d love to welcome you. ❤️

Hello October ☀️🌊

The summer crowds have gone, the bay is a little quieter and there’s something rather lovely about Dale at this time of year.

But we’re still here! 🤍

Throughout October, The Griffin is open Tuesday–Sunday, serving Simon’s fresh seafood, local produce and all your Griffin favourites.

And we’re keeping the doors open through November and December too, with weekend opening before we get into the Christmas season. 🎄

So if you fancy a coastal escape, a long lunch, a seafood supper or simply a drink overlooking the bay… October is a pretty lovely time to visit.
