Got Sunday sorted yet? 🍂

The clocks have gone back, the leaves are turning, and it's proper roast weather. We've still got tables for Sunday lunch tomorrow, served 12 till 8pm, so there's no rush.

Shane's roasts are built on R&J Yorkshire's Finest beef, with Yorkshire puddings the size of your head and gravy you'll want a spoon for. Fancy something different? Our Yorkshire pudding wraps have a bit of a following.

Out walking at Brimham Rocks or Fountains Abbey first? Bring the dog. Four-legged walkers are welcome in the bar when you're dining, with Sir Woofchester's treats on the house and Yorvale dog ice cream for afters 🐾

Christmas Day, without the washing up. 🎄

The bar opens at 11am for a festive drink, then sit down to a five-course Christmas lunch: Scottish salmon roulade, 32-day aged Yorkshire sirloin and a proper Christmas pudding to finish.

£140 per person, children under 12 £70. Tables are seated between 12pm and 1pm, and Christmas Day always books up early.

We've some proper exciting news to share 🌟

We're one of the finalists for Best Yorkshire Pub at the Taste Awards 2026. There was a record number of entries this year, so we're dead chuffed just to be on the list.

This one belongs to all of you: our regulars, our guests, and all the four-legged friends who've curled up by the bar with a Sir Woofchester's treat 🐾

Autumn walkies, sorted 🍂🐾

If your four-legged friend loves a good sniff about as much as you love a proper pub lunch after, you're in the right spot. Here are a few of our favourite dog walks, all an easy drive from the Inn:

🌳 Druid's Temple, near Masham: a mysterious folly hidden in the woods, with plenty of trails for muddy paws
🌸 RHS Harlow Carr, Harrogate: beautiful autumn colour, and dogs on leads are welcome
🪨 Brimham Rocks: big skies, strange rock shapes and room to roam
🏰 Fountains Abbey: a stroll round the ruins and water gardens, leads on

Then come back to us for a warm by the fire. Dogs are always welcome in our bar when you're dining, and there's a treat from our friends at Sir Woofchester's, makers here in the north, for good boys and girls.

Is there anything better than a Sunday roast by a roaring fire? 🔥

Proper Yorkshire puddings, lashings of gravy, pigs in blankets and all the trimmings, then apple crumble and custard by the fire to finish. Dogs are very welcome too, and if you fancy making a weekend of it, our cosy Lodge rooms are just across the garden 🐾
