Bar Manager – Job Vacancy
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and business-minded Bar Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our venue.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who doesn't just want to manage a bar, but wants to take ownership, bring fresh ideas and play an active role in developing and growing the business.
We are looking for someone with a hands-on approach, excellent leadership skills and the ability to identify new opportunities to increase revenue, attract customers and establish the venue as a popular destination.
Key Responsibilities
**Venue Management & Operations**
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the venue.
- Ensure the venue operates efficiently and delivers excellent customer service.
- Manage opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and overall venue appearance.
- Oversee stock control, ordering, deliveries and stock management.
- Monitor sales, costs, wastage and overall profitability.
- Ensure all licensing, health and safety and operational procedures are followed.
**Staff Management & Development**
- Recruit, train, manage and motivate the team.
- Prepare staff rotas and manage staffing levels.
- Lead by example and maintain high standards of professionalism.
- Manage staff performance, attendance and conduct.
- Build a positive working environment where the team is motivated to deliver.
**Business Development & Marketing**
- Actively look for ways to grow the business and increase customer numbers.
- Develop and implement ideas to drive sales and improve revenue.
- Take responsibility for the venue's social media presence and regular content.
- Create and coordinate promotional campaigns, offers and special events.
- Build relationships with local businesses, promoters, DJs and event organisers.
- Identify opportunities to introduce new events, themed nights and entertainment.
- Proactively promote the venue and help build its reputation within the local community.
**Events & Entertainment**
- Source, organise and book DJs, performers, entertainers and external promoters.
- Develop an exciting and varied events calendar.
- Manage event planning, promotion and delivery.
- Work with external partners to bring new audiences into the venue.
- Monitor event performance and identify opportunities to improve future events.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in a bar, nightclub or hospitality management role.
- Is commercially minded and understands the importance of driving sales.
- Has strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Is confident using social media and understands how to promote a venue online.
- Is creative, proactive and full of ideas.
- Can work independently, take responsibility and make decisions.
- Has a genuine passion for hospitality, entertainment and customer experience.
- Is flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends and busy trading periods.
