Match day recap
The Tungsten Inn Leagues in Grimsby saw some exciting darts action today, with key matches impacting the standings in both Monday Division 1 and Monday Division 2.
In Monday Division 1, Jim Janney had a successful day, winning two matches against Craig Storr (4-2) and Nick May (4-0), and another against Daz Mawer (4-0). These victories propelled Janney to the top of the standings, moving him up from second to first place with an increase in points from 29 to 35. Anthony Mitchell also had a strong performance, winning against Nick May (4-2) and Paul Smith (4-1), which moved him up from third to second place, accumulating a total of 33 points. Craig Storr, despite drawing with Graham Field (3-3), slipped from first to third place. Graham Field maintained his fourth position with a win and a draw. Jordan Smith climbed two spots to sixth after drawing with Josh Heath (3-3) and defeating Daz Mawer (4-1) and Owen Baines (4-2). Josh Heath moved up three places to ninth, while Paul Smith dropped two places to twelfth. The standings remained unchanged for Owen Baines, Riley Short, Nick May, and Gordon Longhurst, who held their positions at fifth, eleventh, thirteenth, and fourteenth, respectively.
In Monday Division 2, Seth Vickers maintained his top position with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Jenni Cupit. Bailey Hughes also solidified his second place with two strong wins against Ciaran Blastland (4-0) and David Blastland (4-0), increasing his points to 43. Reece Murphy remained in third place, winning against Jordan Robinson (4-1) but losing to Jenni Cupit (2-4). Charlie Hewson moved up to fourth place following a win against Josh Penny (4-2) and a loss to Ciaran Blastland (2-4). Danny Woods moved up one spot to sixth after a draw with Josh Penny (3-3) and a win over Dave East (4-1). David Blastland climbed to eighth place with a win against Dave East (4-2) but lost to Bailey Hughes. Tom Pickard improved his position to eleventh after a draw with Bethany Westerman (3-3) and a win over Jordan Robinson (4-0). Despite her efforts, Bethany Westerman remains at the bottom of the standings, with a draw and two losses today. Jordan Robinson also stays at the bottom, unable to secure a win. Ciaran Blastland, Jenni Cupit, and Josh Penny maintained their positions in the standings, with no changes after today's matches.
