ANOTHER FAMILY BUSINESS BROKEN IN TO
We have identified him
🌴 PINK GIN, JÄGER & PRESSING THE PANIC ALARM… GRIMSBY’S LEAST SUCCESSFUL BAR CRAWL.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, Jungle Smash was broken into by someone who apparently misunderstood “help yourself to a good night.”
Bottles of pink gin and rum were stolen, and our unwanted visitor helped himself to some Jäger while attempting to break into our token machines. Clearly, even his terrible decisions needed a supporting drink.
A small amount of cash was taken from the till, along with tokens and £1 coins from the boxing machine. He also tried to break into the fruit machine but was unsuccessful.
Then, in a spectacular finish, he pressed OUR panic alarm and woke me up.
Most burglars try to avoid alerting the owner. Ours apparently wanted assistance. 🤦♂️
Police have attended, and investigations are ongoing.
🎬 We’ve added a bit of humour to the CCTV video to try to lift our spirits during a stressful time. Sometimes you have to find something to laugh at when you’re absolutely gutted. Please don’t mistake the jokes for us being okay with what happened.
Behind Jungle Smash is a small family working hard, paying ever-growing bills and trying to keep somewhere fun and different going in Grimsby. We live week to week, like many independent businesses, and put so much into this place.
Watching someone damage what we’ve built and help themselves is a proper kick in the teeth. It’s the mess, the repairs, the worry and the sheer disrespect that really get you.
🔎 Do you recognise the person in the footage? There appears to be a tattoo on his neck, and someone who knows him may recognise his walk. Please pass any information privately to police—keep names and guesses out of the comments.
💚 Fancy helping us turn a rubbish week around?
Come and support the Jungle over the next few weekends. Bring your mates, bring the family, play some games, grab a drink or share this post. It’s free to come in, and every visit genuinely helps.
We’d love to see the place full of people who actually use the front door during opening hours.
🌴 Come for the games. Stay for a drink. Please leave the panic alarm alone.
