Established in 1896 and situated above the picturesque town of Gourock, the golf course’s moorland layout boasts absolutely spectacular views over the River Clyde and the Argyllshire hills from every hole. Gillen Open Results & Prizes

Huge congratulations to Phil Watson (big Phil) for winning the Gillen Open quaich with a Gross 72 blows. The rumours of him having a hole cutter as his 14th club are not true.

Congratulations also go to Greg Chamberlain, who won the Handicap Trophy with a very impressive 66. Greg also won the closest to the pin in 2 shots on the 9th Hole.
The best placed Visitor was Andrew Howell (69) but as he got 3rd prize, the Visitor prize money was awarded to Brian Dickson (72) from Braehead (Alloa).
There were 4 Novelty Prizes. The winners should arrange to collect their prize from the Pro-Shop.
1. Simon Deveney - Nearest Pin 4th Hole
2. Andrew Barton - Nearest Pin 7th Hole
3. Douglas McDonald- Nearest Pin 17th Hole
4. Greg Chamberlain - Nearest Pin in Two Shots 9th Hole
Finally there were 17 Twos and the 3 players who have still to collect there prize can do so from the pro-shop.
Gourock Committee hope you all enjoyed your round and look forward to welcoming all visitors back.

We are running a 6 week programme to introduce girls (age 8+) into golf. This will be hosted by our Girls Coordinator Clare Nicholson who has recently joined the club. We will be holding an open evening on 3rd June from 6-7pm and then the 6 week programme starts a week later on 10th June. If you are interested please contact Clare using the details on the posters.
