Three weeks to go until we hit the White Isle. If it wasn’t for that island, there probably wouldn’t be a Tight Red Afro.

More than a few pilgrimages to the Island that educated us musically and more importantly, in the finer details of parties.

The days dancing on the sand at Bora Bora are an inspiration to the open-air parties we create with the garden parties, the red in the name and using only red lights are a nod to the Mondays we spent dancing at DC10.

It’s a dream come true to be playing in Ibiza, and to be doing it for STREETrave, a party that we have been dancing at for 20 odd years, being welcomed into the family over the last few years just makes it that little bit more special.

8 years ago today, we were part of this. Anyone who was there will still tell you it’s the best production they’ve ever seen in Scotland.

We had a headline slot on one of the other stages, with a certain person playing beneath us who’s now doing incredible things all over the world. We wouldn’t change where we are now, but if only we were 10 years younger…

What we’ve built locally is something special though and for 4 old pals to be keeping a hobby alive we couldn’t ask for anything more. We’ve got an army that follows us to all the big events, come out in numbers for all our Garden Parties and that support is what drives us to keep doing what we do.

What a party it was though.

A special mention as well to the boy Jamie Roy, who played that night and is sadly no longer with us.

The memories popping up today are a reminder of just how special this thing of ours really is.

There’s plenty more to come.

And that’s a wrap… what a day, thanks to everyone that came out and braved the weather. The big tent was a life saver, created a good vibe and kept everyone dancing. Then when things moved up stairs it was like a proper club environment, sweat dripping off the ceiling with a room full of energy.

Thanks to all the staff at The Pop Inn for keeping everyone hydrated and helping us with the set up yesterday, can not wait until August when we have the legend Jon Mancini - Official down to join us in The Garden to round off the summer.

A few more to go before that happens though and next up is the holy grail, STREETrave weekender in Ibiza. The stuff dreams are made of!!

Tomorrow we’ll be back in The Garden at The Pop Inn for our first Garden Party of the summer as we continue our 10th anniversary celebrations. Tomorrow is residents only — no planned set times, no egos, just the 4 of us doing what we do best and expressing our own styles properly, as well as the mad b2b2b2b’s that make these parties so special.

Unfortunately, it looks like the last of the good weather has passed us by after it was forecast to be so good… BUT is that going to stop the party? Absolutely not.

We’re assessing things by the second, but as most of you will know, after the one time we had a massive downpour we invested in a big marquee — and if we need to get that up tomorrow to cover the area, we will.

There will be a few slight changes to the usual set-up. The outside bar won’t be in operation, so everyone will need to use the inside bar throughout the day. There will be card machines available, so there’s no need for the usual dash to the bank, but we’d urge anyone who can bring cash to do so as it will help speed things up at the bar.

There will also be no food served tomorrow, so the staff can be fully focused on keeping you all refreshed, with drink promotions in place to help ease the cost of an all-day session.

Other than that, the usual rules apply. The Garden will run from 2pm until 8pm, with last entry at 4pm, but as always, if you’ve got something on and will struggle to make it for 4, let us know and we’ll get you sorted.

We’ll then take things upstairs to the new space, Top Of The Pop which looks absolutely brilliant, to carry the party on until close.

There have been a few tickets popping up on RA Resale, but they’ve been getting snapped up straight away. There’s currently one Garden Party-only ticket available on the event page.

If there’s anyone with a Day/Night ticket who isn’t going to make it upstairs with us, please let us know. We’ve had loads of people asking to get upstairs, but we need to stick to the capacity. Even if it’s on the day and you’ve simply had too good a time in the garden, don’t leave without letting us know so someone else can take the space — and we’ll make sure they get you a drink.

For anyone who has Garden Party only tickets and isn’t ready for leaving at 8pm the downstairs bar will be open as normal until shutting time, if there is any casualties from upstairs and any of the troops are still about down the stairs we will make sure we get you’s up to the party.

As always, look after each other, respect the bar staff and the neighbours but most importantly… dance like nobody’s watching and have a good time.

Bouncing right into the summer, as you all know our aim this year was to have a year of celebration and we are giving it our best shot.
