12 Year Old Ben Nevis Single Malt Scotch Wh**ky

Oloroso Sherry Butt | 64.7% alc./vol.

🍇NOSE: Damson jam, soft prunes and dark muscovado sugar, followed by freshly cut gingerbread. A faint trace of a struck match adds intrigue, with a suggestion of damp slate underneath. Like the magician’s locked box: something interesting is going on in there.

🍫PALATE: Dense and forceful, with Oloroso richness wrapped around bitter chocolate, black liquorice and thick malt extract. Ben Nevis brings an earthy streak through the middle, while ground ginger adds a prickly heat. There’s plenty to unravel here, and the magician is keeping his methods to himself.

🍯FINISH: Strong black tea and liquorice root stretch out, with the faintest suggestion of hearth smoke. A firm tannic grip settles on the tongue as ginger warmth continues to glow. An impressively unhurried disappearing act.

10 Year Old Secret Speyside Single Malt Scotch Wh**ky 🥃

Oloroso Sherry Hogshead 65% alc./vol.

Distilled 2016 · Bottled 2026 🕰️

🍒 NOSE: Morello cherries steeped in brandy, soft Medjool dates and candied tangerine. Warm fruit loaf and redcurrant jelly follow, with a dusting of cinnamon and a fragrant thread of sandalwood. The fortune-teller appears to be running a rather good sweetshop on the side.

🍇 PALATE: Silky and generous, with raspberry conserve, crisp honeycomb and a spoonful of Seville marmalade. The sherry sweetness builds beautifully before clove and a pleasantly tart edge cut through the richness. Extravagant, persuasive and very difficult to refuse. You came in for a palm reading and somehow bought the whole caravan.

🍯 FINISH: A lingering ribbon of cherry syrup, gradually becoming brighter and more tangy. Cinnamon returns as the sweetness settles, followed by a delicate, drying hint of sandalwood. Apparently there are good things in your future. Another sip, for a start.

A 15 éves Caol Ila-ja az Islay-i wh**kyk jellegzetes, füstös és sós világát hozza, miközben a vaniliás és citrusos jegyek friss lendületet adnak neki. Egy palack, amelyben a sziget vad, tengerjárta hangulata is visszaköszön.

A 2011 májusában lepárolt single malt tizenöt évet töltött refill hogshead hordóban, mielőtt 2026 júliusában palackozták. Illatában tengeri só, égett hínár és tőzegfüst jelenik meg. Ízében az édes tőzeg és a kandírozott citrusok kerülnek előtérbe es kis süteményes vonallal. A lecsengésben égetett narancshéj, édes alma és kristálycukros édesség marad.

49,5%-os alkoholtartalommal, természetes színnel és hűtve szűrés nélkül palackozva, mindössze 300 palackos kiadásban.

18 Year Old Bunnahabhain Single Malt Scotch Wh**ky

Oloroso Sherry Hogshead | 59.6% alc./vol.
Distilled 2008 · Bottled 2026

🍯NOSE: Beeswax, saddle leather and toasted walnuts, with soft dried figs tucked underneath. There’s buttered rye toast and the faintest breath of sea air, followed by the comforting smell of an old to***co pouch. This particular circus wagon has clearly travelled.

🍫 PALATE: Broad, oily and pleasingly chewy. Salted fudge and fig paste meet brown butter, roasted coffee beans and a savoury richness that holds everything together. A grind of black pepper makes itself known towards the back of the tongue. Considerable weight, but surprisingly good manners.

🥜 FINISH: Slowly drying, with walnut skins, to***co leaf and a faint saline tang. The fudge sweetness ebbs away, leaving roasted coffee and a warm, nutty depth that stays put. A firm handshake from a man who bends horseshoes for a living.

FAVOURITE WH**KY: Miyagikyo Yeast Experiment 2022 – I always love an oily peaty number (Laphroaig feel free to send my bribe money), but this dram always sticks in my mind from the Wh**ky Show in London, an orchard in a glass. I still kick myself that I didn’t pick up a bottle at the time! 💡

FAVOURITE ALBUM: Inside In Inside Out – The Kooks. 🎧

FAVOURITE FOOD: Marmite. 🍯

FAVOURITE PASTIME: Going to gigs, being bad at photography, and sitting around the St Giles steps drinking Buckfast all day. 🤸

Every bottling has an obscure backstory. Sometimes it’s how on earth we managed to get our hands on the cask. Other times it’s what made us think, “Aye, that’s better than good. Get that bottled!” 🎪

One thing they all have in common? Every single cask must survive the rigorous North Star Spirits tasting panel. A highly trained collection of discerning palates, questionable characters and folk who take their wh**ky very seriously - most of the time. 🤡

We don’t bottle wh**ky just because it’s rare, old or has a fancy name. We bottle it because it’s bloody good. 🐘

Marzena helps keep our bottling hall running smoothly, making sure the liquid gets from wood to glass without a hitch - and every label is perfectly straight! 📐

🕯️ She’s our wax-dipping expert and loves getting stuck into the consolidation puzzle: bringing together orders of different bottlings from different independent bottlers, all heading to the same importer. Different brands, countless bottles, one destination - Marzena keeps it all in order.

A steady hand, eye for detail and someone we’re very glad to have on the North Star team! 🌟

🥃 Favorite Wh**ky North Star, of course! I love whiskies that are slightly sweet, fruity and full of character, so a North Star Ben Nevis is right up my street. For me, the best dram is one you can take your time over, enjoying the aromas and discovering a little something different with each sip.

🍱 Favorite food: Homemade Polish food is hard to beat! There’s something lovely about a proper home-cooked meal — comforting, full of flavour and worth taking your time over. Chinese food is another favourite of mine, especially when there are a few different dishes on the table so you can try a little of everything. Choosing between the two? I’d rather just have Polish tonight and Chinese tomorrow!”

🔊 Favorite album: Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ is one of my absolute favourites - It’s one of those songs I could listen to again and again without getting tired of it. I also love Queen’s ‘The Works’ - plenty of energy and songs that deserves to be played loud.

Favorite pasttime: My teenage years — that time when it feels like the whole world belongs to you! You have big dreams, so much to discover and that wonderful feeling that anything is possible.
