Well, Saturday afternoon turned into an absolute belter🤣❤️

Our residents Geordie had a very special visitor when his son-in-law Derrick Monteith aka The Singing Butcher 🥩🎤 came along with his mates Matt and Robbie to entertain us.

The boys are more used to a bit of karaoke, but you certainly wouldn't have know it🎶👏🏻 what a brilliant afternoon.

A massive thank you to Derrick, Matt and Robbie for giving up their time and coming along to entertain everyone. You absolutely smashed it... come back anytime the Carrondale stage awaits ❤️ !

Sometimes it's the simple days out that are the best ❤️ A wee road trip through Drymen and Aberfoyle, with a stop at Skoosh for coffee and breakfast before heading on to take in the beautiful views at the Three Lochs☕🥓🌲

Good food, great company and some absolutely stunning Scottish scenery... not a bad way to spend the day ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 !

Well... where do we begin 🤣 our Spanish classes are now in full swing and we're absolutely loving them 🇪🇸❤

There's been plenty of learning, Spanish music, instruments and a fair bit of enthusiasm along the way - some of us may even be convincing ourselves we're fluent already 😂🎵💃

But behind all the fun is something really meaningful - learning together, trying something new and bringing a little piece of home to Carrondale for our Spanish resident❤️🇪🇸

Lovely afternoon supporting Dementia UK with their Afternoon Tea☕🧁

Of course, we couldn't just stop at tea and cake 😂 the very talented John Davidson came along to entertain us and before long everyone was joining in, singing, dancing and showing off a fair few moves for good measure 🎵💃🕺

🧶❤️The Ladies Showed Us How It's Done❤️🧶

Well, we thought we were having a nice relaxing afternoon of knitting and crochet... apparently not🤣 this turned into one seriously intense session, with our residents taking charge and showing us exactly how it's done🧶🤣

Margaret was absolutely in her element and very quickly took the lead, those knitting needles going like nobody's business, while May worked her magic with the crochet hook❤ years of skill, patience and experience right there in those hands - although I'm not sure there was quite as much patience when the rest of us couldn't keep up 😂

There's something really special about seeing a skill someone has loved for years come straight back to life. No fuss, no instructions needed... just hand them the wool and away they go 🥰

Safe to say, our residents were the teachers for this one !

🥇🏃🏻Carrondale Goes for Gold🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️🥇

With the Commonwealth Games providing the inspiration, things got just a wee bit competitive when our friends from Larbert High Sports joined us for our very own Carrondale Althetics 😂🏆

Shot put, hurdles, running, boxing and high jump were all on the programme - adapted Carrondale style, of course💪🏻🥊 there was plenty of determination, some questionable sporting techniques 😂 and absolutely NO shortage of competitive spirit. Safe to say, nobody was giving away a medal without a fight 🥇🥈🥉

A huge thank you to the brilliant pupils and staff from Larbert High for another fantastic session. You bring the energy... our residents bring the competition😂❤️

As for who won? We're declaring Team Carrondale the overall champions🏆😉 !

There was only one rule for World Baking Day at Carrondale... if you make it, you get to eat it😂😋

Residents, staff, families and our little helpers all got stuck in, with plenty of decorating , sampling and a fair bit of quality control along the way🧁😂 and as you can see from the photos, some took the tasting duties VERY seriously!

A huge shout-out to our fabulous kitchen team for helping us pull it all together and keeping everyone supplied with the good stuff👩🏻‍🍳👏🏻❤️

Calories definitely didn't count that day... we checked😂🍰
