A Gentle Reminder Regarding Children in the Pub
Unfortunately, we are having to reiterate our rules regarding children in the pub and, going forward, strengthen our resolve when it comes to children running around or behaving disruptively.
We completely understand that it can sometimes be difficult for parents to keep children seated and settled, and we appreciate that children will naturally be children. However, we do need to be clear that it is the responsibility of parents or accompanying adults to supervise their children at all times.
It is not the responsibility of our staff to repeatedly ask parents to watch their children, intervene when children are running around, or reprimand disruptive behaviour. Our staff are here to look after all of our customers and ensure that the pub remains a safe, comfortable and enjoyable environment for everyone.
We are genuinely very sad to have to post this again, as we pride ourselves on being a welcoming and family-friendly pub. However, we also have a responsibility to consider the comfort and safety of all our customers and staff.
We have also recently had children remaining in the pub until quite late in the evening. Having considered this carefully, we have therefore introduced a 9pm curfew for children. Unfortunately, we do not feel that the pub environment is appropriate for children after this time.
We hope our customers will understand that these rules are not intended to cause offence or make families feel unwelcome. They are simply there to ensure that everyone can enjoy the pub in a safe, relaxed and respectful environment.
