🍇”WINE + SHOOT” + LIVE MUSIC!

Do you want to try our NEW Laser Clay Shooting Experience!

We want to provide another Fun Activity for the Guys to participate in as we have lots of lovely groups of Ladies who gather here together & spend many happy hours chatting, so we felt that we could also offer something that would appeal to our gentleman guests! A little friendly rivalry & competition & combine it with what The Motley Cru do best…..Wine Tours & Food!

So we’ve created the “WINE + SHOOT” Experience here. Obviously anyone can participate in Laser Clay Shooting, as our professional Instructors guide you on the day so no previous experience is needed & Ladies are very welcome to give the guys some extra added level of competition! Our Shooting area is in the Parkland, a space that not many people might realise we have here at the Estate. It’s hidden from view by the hedge.

One of our fabulous Motley Cru Team will host you & join in the Shooting rivalry & they will also provide a fun Wine Tour of the Vineyard, where you will taste our Wines actually in the Vineyard at various different “Tasting Stations”. Our Vineyard is our “Alfresco Tasting Room” (you may have heard some of the hype about our *NEW* “Flying Circus” Blanc de Noirs Sparkling Wine!!). Your glass will never be left empty as you explore the Vineyard.

You’ll also enjoy a hearty Feast, none other than the Motley Cru Deli Feast Platters prepared by “Martin the Maestro” (one of the Motley Cru Chefs), who doesn’t skimp on portions! He really does give you a Feast to remember! A Feast of different Charcuterie, our mighty Scotch Eggs, local Artisan Cheeses, Quiche, Chutneys, Fruits, Breads and whatever else Martin can squeeze on!

So the next “WINE + SHOOT” is on Saturday 20th June (11.00am - 5.00pm) Perfect timing for a treat for Father’s Day don’t you think!! We also have “Magic Soda” performing live from 3.00pm - 5.00pm.

WINE TASTING | CANAPÉS

Isn’t it great to see so many happy, smiling faces enjoying Wine together. Lots of people celebrating Birthdays Today🎉!

It’s a perfect day here for Alfresco WINE TASTING out in the Courtyard with our baskets of bite-sized Treats to pair perfectly with the Wines. The Courtyard is a “Sea of white Gazebos & Parasols”.

It’s a great way to spend an afternoon with Friends or Family or both!

We have vintage & military Aircraft flying over the Vineyard as it’s the English Riviera Airshow all weekend and the Red Arrows have already done a fly-past.

🍕PIZZA | COCKTAILS🍸

They’re back!! Our first Pizza & Cocktails Night is next Friday 5th June! Wow…..That’s come round so quickly.

Head Chef Louis along with his Team, River, Danny & Martin, will be making you delicious Pizzas all made here from scratch.

There are some lovely Nibbles on the Menu whilst you wait for your Pizza including Olives with warm Crusty Bread, Oil & Balsamic. There’s Chicken Goujons with Truffle Mayo & everyone’s favourite Crispy Brie served with Chilli Jam.

On the NEW Pizza Menu are the following choices:

“Hot Honey” - Nduja, Chorizo, Harissa £15

“Puttanesca” - Capers, Anchovies, Olives, Sunblushed Tomatoes & Chilli (VGA) £15

“Margherita” - Mozzarella, Tomato & our home grown Basil (VGA) £13

“Wild Mushroom” - Bechamel Sauce base with Local Wild Mushrooms £14

“Confit Chicken” - Crispy Bacon & Caramelised Onion £15

(Gluten free bases are available on request)

Our resident Mixologist Ben & the Team in The Motley Cru Bar will be creating some incredible Cocktails as always. We’ll post about the Cocktails next week.

It’s always lovely to see our Olive Tree Courtyard twinkling with Festoon Lights, Candle lights & the sparkle from our giant Fire-pits. New this Year are our Glass Gas Fire-pits dotted around the Courtyard to create that extra magical effect.

☀️Summer | BBQ | Party
Spend an Evening dining in our beautiful Orchard. Home of our new Fire Cooking BBQ Experience. The Orchard is also the home of our “Sundowners” Sparkling Cider. We’ve just released our 2025 Vintage & everyone seems to think it’s our best yet!

The Orchard is a new Dining Space in the Evening & a lovely “Picnic” spot during the day. We’re not sure why we didn’t transform it sooner as it’s really quite magical. As you enter the Orchard you’ll be amazed at the sound of the Birds & the immediate feeling of tranquility. Maybe it’s something to do with the ancient Apple Trees or maybe it’s just because it feels like a “Secret Garden”.

We’re hosting many Events in this new space, including several BBQ’s for our fabulous 🍇“Harvest Helpers” who do an amazing job picking Grapes throughout September & October.

We’ll also be hosting 🌸“SIP + SNIP”🥂Events in the Orchard from July onwards, as we’ve planted so many beautiful Dahlias. You’re going to be well & truly blown away by the colourful display. If you haven’t joined the Dahlia craze yet, then let us be the ones to kick start your “Love Affair” with these addictive Flowers (Yes you can eat Dahlias) but we mean, once you start growing them, you just get the bug & have to keep on planting different varieties.

The next time you can DINE in the ORCHARD is on Friday 26th June when Luke Vandore-Mackay will be cooking up the most heavenly FIRE FEAST. The Food Luke creates over LIVE FIRE is extraordinary! You can enjoy Fireside Canapés & sipping “Sundowners” whilst enjoying the breath-taking views across the Vines.

Supper will be served around the giant Fire-pits & on a clear night, we have the most spectacular views of the Stars. It’s a perfect way to spend an evening with Friends & Family if they’re staying with you for the Weekend & you want to share the delights of “Devon Life” with them. There’ll also be Live Music to create the perfect “Vineyard Vibe!”.

😂GIN | TASTING😜

We always love hearing the giggles coming from over the other side of the hedge in the Herb Garden when it’s time for a Gin Tasting as part of one of our Wine Tours.

Some of The Motley Cru Team work in the Office, above the old Stables which are at the back of the Herb Garden and it’s fabulous to hear the sound of guilty laughter. It’s highly infectious!

Maybe it’s when guests pull the Herbs out of their beds by their “ears” that causes the giggles or perhaps there is some magic in our “Cheeky Ginny” Gin that brings out a mischievous spirit!

Perhaps it’s simply because these guests have been on one of our unique 🍷”WINE SAFARI”🦓 Tour Experiences and the Herb Garden is their last ‘pit-stop’ on the Tour that makes everyone feel in a “cheeky” mood.

On a hot day like yesterday, it was so lovely to hear the sound of uncontrollable laughter.

Some would say our Gins are a real Tonic and good for the Soul! It’s why we struggle to keep up with demand for this unique Gin made from distilling our intensley flavoured Lavender with our distinctive Rosemary, our Liquorice tasting Fennel & our very own botanical infused Honey from our Hives on their island in the middle of the Lake.

Whatever it is - it’s a powerful combination that makes others taste flavourless in comparison, especially when mixed with an Artisan Tonic and incredibly fresh Herbs that have been fed the most amazing miracle feed that we produce here on the Estate.

If you’re in need of a good giggle, then The Motley Cru WINE SAFARI Experience has been voted as the best day out ever!

FIRE | FEAST

After all the fabulous different Outdoor Dining Experiences you’ve all been immersed in here Today, so many of you have been asking if you can come to the next “FIRE + FIZZ” Event because you’ve heard how amazing the Food was at the last one - “out of this World!”. So here’s some more info….

To create something special & unique for our 🔥FIRE + FIZZ🥂 Evenings, we join up with a fantastic Fire Chef, none other than Luke Vandore-Mackay of & what Luke creates on our Argentine Fire Grill is incredible. No one could quite believe their eyes last time at the Feast put before them. So we’re hosting another one on Fri 26th June, Fri 24th July & Fri 21st August. We are also hosting a 🔥FIRE + FIZZ🥂 for a Private Party of 100 x guests 😆

You might have seen our new beautiful BBQ area in the Orchard when you were here Today. We did spot a few people snoozing under the shade of our Apples Trees.

Anyway, the Orchard is a heavenly space overlooking our Solaris Grape Plantation (“Magical Mists” is our hugely popular Wine that we make from these beautiful aromatic Grapes).

Our Garden Team have built at least 10 Pergolas that all link together to create a unique Dining area in two long structures amongst the canopy of the Apple Trees, Walnut Trees & Plum Trees (admittedly we got the idea to create this space from a Wine Estate we visited in Chile last year).

So Luke entertains you during the evening & cooks amongst you, telling funny stories & talks about where he sources the very best of local Food. It’s quite a performance! The scents from the Argentine Grill are intoxicating (and Yes we got the idea from a Wine Estate in Argentina earlier this Year).

Oh and one last thing, we bring a Live Band in to perform in the Orchard. It truly is a special evening.

What if it rains? Well our Team are hugely resourceful & they’re amazing at planning Events so there’s always a wet weather plan in place whereby we host everyone under a large Stretch Tent. It’s such a beautiful day for a “Wine Tasting Experience” here at Kenton Park Estate, especially Alfresco-style along the Terrace overlooking the Vines.

The Motley Cru are really excited to be hosting so many different groups here Today all having a different Experience.

We have this Table set up in the Vineyard overlooking our Bacchus Grape Plantation (the grapes that produce our “Grape Escape” Wine). The Table is set up ready for a “WINE TASTING + CANAPÉS” Experience followed by a lovely long Lunch. What a great day for it!

There is a large group Dining under our long wooden Pergolas, also along the Terrace, overlooking our Pinot Noir Plantation (these grapes are used to make several different Wines here including our *NEW* “Flying Circus” Blanc de Noirs Sparkling Wine).

The Courtyard is also busy with everyone dining under the shade of our Olive Trees, enjoying Music from the Horse Box. It’s been a busy morning already for our Breakfast Platters.

All of our African-style, thatched roof Safari Huts are booked Today including the Safari Hut Grill we have in the Kitchen Garden here at the Estate where guests will be dining amongst all the fresh produce we grow for the Restaurant. It also has great views of the Parkland and you will often spot our cheeky Runner Ducks racing past you in a long line on their way to the Lake.

The Starcross “Wine Train” Shuttle Service is also busy shuttling people back & forth.

Step into the American Old Wild West with The Motley Cru…here at Kenton Park Estate on Saturday 4th July for a brilliant Murder Mystery Experience. We’ve hosted several Murder Mystery Events here now & they’ve become really popular.

So if you haven’t experienced one of these unique Events with us before, then head over to our Web Site Events Page to Book.

WHAT HAPPENS…..

When you arrive here on the night, a handful of willing bold & reckless “Desperados” will be chosen to take on the roles of our 12 key Suspects!

Each Suspect will have their own secrets, motives & a small part to play in the Story.

Everyone else on the night becomes part of the “Town” — watching closely, asking questions & working together to uncover the truth behind the Murder!

We know many of you love the opportunity to “get into character” so we’d love everyone to come dressed in Wild West style (totally optional) to really “bring the theme of the Evening to Life” — whether that’s a full outlaw ensemble, saloon glamour, or just a simple hat and scarf.

The attached character map gives you a flavour of the people you might encounter (and the kind of look you could go for!).

No acting experience needed — just a willingness to get involved and have a huge amount of fun.

The Town is waiting … and not everyone is telling the truth.

Join us for “Fathers Day!”

Sunday 21st June

We don’t usually open on a Sunday unless it’s for a “Special Occasion” so we’re thrilled that we will be open for Father’s Day on Sunday 21st June.

We’ve had so many requests asking if we would open for everyone to celebrate Father’s Day here and you all want us to serve our famous “Motley Cru Roast Platters”.

So how could we refuse!!

We’ve taken a lot of Bookings already, so if you have asked us if we’re open and you haven’t booked yet, then head over to our Web Site to Book - there’s a quick link in our Stories posted earlier.

There will of course be other Food options to choose from (including a fabulous Steak option) and the Menu will be published soon (it’s just been a little busy here lately so we haven’t had a chance to finalise it yet to make sure there’s something delicious for everyone). Our next ‘ART in the VINES’ Experience on the 6th June is FULLY BOOKED so the next available date for this unique Wine & Paint Event with Sienna is on the 4th July!

If you haven’t heard about these Painting Events, here’s a quick overview….

It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in the ‘Creative World’ here at Kenton Park Estate with our in-house Artist, Sienna Oliphant-Thompson.

You don’t have to be an expert to book a place on our ‘SIP & PAINT’ Workshops as Sienna will guide you through the basics & inspire you to create your very own masterpiece.

Sienna has a magical way of getting the best out of everyone with her easy going, relaxed teaching manner that will fill you full of confidence.

Many of Sienna’s original Paintings feature on our Wine Labels, on our Gin, as well as in our ‘Motley Life’ Magazines & on our Web Site & Social Media posts. Sienna will show you how she captures the Spirit of Kenton Park Estate in her Paintings of various Landscapes captured around the grounds.

So come & enjoy a fun day here in a beautiful setting under Sienna’s guidance & of course no visit to a Vineyard would be complete without a glass or more of our NEW Wines along the way to help the creative juices to flow, along with our delicious famous Deli Feast Sharing Platters served in one of our African style Safari Huts.
