As we all know there’s a big Festival taking place at Powderham Castle this Weekend!

So for all Residents of Kenton, Mamhead, Kenn, Kennford…..come & escape the madness and join us for a FREE Glass of our Grape Escape Wine and let’s have our own PARTY here in the VINES! We may even be able to hear Lewis Capaldi or Atlanis Morissette belting out their Tunes!

Champagne Baths of our deliciously Chilled “Grape Escape” Wine will be waiting for you on the Bar.

Are you all ready for “FIRE + FIZZ” on Friday Night! It’s going to be the perfect evening to Dine in our “Sundowners Orchard” watching the Sunset whilst being surrounded by a Feast being cooked on all of our open Fire-pits & our Argentinian Grill. We’re so looking forward to this Event knowing the weather is going to be incredible & we@have a fabulous Live Band performing for us! So if you’ve got Friends staying for the Weekend then bring them over as this style of Cooking in the Open Air with the perfect Vineyard backdrop is a fantastic way to play the perfect host! Our FIRE + FIZZ Events have certainly taken off this Season and many of you are having your own Private FIRE + FIZZ Party under the stars. See you all on Friday. The next “ART in the VINES” Paint & Wine Experience is on Saturday 4th July. You’re all asking where Sienna will be hosting it this time after the incredible response to the last Instagram post about hosting it in our *NEW* Rhino Greenhouses in the Orchard when Sienna transformed it into a beautiful “Glass Box Studio” for the day!

Our Greenhouse is actually our “Tomato House” where we’re growing lots of varieties of Tomatoes for our famous Motley Cru Deli Feast Sharing Platters - a work of Art in themselves & provide the perfect “subject” to paint in their own right with all the beautiful “Picky Bites” to delight your tastebuds!

So who knows where Sienna will create the space for her next Workshop - Maybe in “The Kitchen Garden” so full of colour at the moment from all the edible Flowers we’re growing (Nasturtiums) capturing the view from inside or outside our Safari Hut that’s surrounded by the most incredible vibrant purple Verbenas.

Maybe in our Wild Flower Meadow overlooking “The Watering Hole” our new Lake here on the Estate & if we’re lucky the Runner Ducks, Moorhead & Mallards will come & say “Hello”.

Possibly in “The Copse” overlooking the Parkland under the shade of a Gazebo with Lunch served in our *NEW* Wine Tasting Barn - “The Cooperage”.

If it’s beautiful weather then the view from the Firepit at the top of the Vineyard is stunning especially with the flame coloured Red Hot Pokers “Kniphofias”popping out all around you, planted to mimic the flames from the Firepit. It’s a beautiful spot when there’s a slight breeze & the Wild Grasses rustle & sway around you.

We also have several different areas where you can paint under the Pergolas along “The Terrace” overlooking the Vines planted with hundreds of flowering Lavender & Rosemary or under the Pergolas in the Orchard filled with our new collection of Dahlias all in different colours. If it’s raining then Sienna will host everyone in the Barrel Room. So it will be a surprise on the day!

⛔️Warning! Never enter an Artist’s own Studio! It’s hard to describe the chaos of colour that exists within & hundreds of Winsor & Newton Oil paint tubes. See you on Saturday 4th July.

Are you free next Tuesday and Wednesday?

We’d really LOVE your help in the Vineyard!

The Vines are growing at an exceptional rate this Year (must be all that fantastic Nutrition we’ve been putting into the soil with all of our Cover Crops & Ben’s Vine Broth - he makes our organic Tisanes to spray onto the Vines and they are obviously loving it!!!) so the Vines are galloping towards the “Finish Line” with every growth stage happening so fast! 2026 is after all the Year of the Horse!

Ben will of course be able to explain far more scientifically what’s happening in the Vineyard to everyone next week and what help he needs with the Vines.

The Vineyard is looking particularly stunning at the moment with all of our Flower Borders blooming with colour around the Vines and all of our Lavenders have burst forth with exponential growth rate this Year (is it all the Mushroom Compost we’ve been spreading from The Compost Man ?).

Our Wine Hosts will treat everyone to a fun Wine Tasting of The Motley Cru Wine collection at the end of the Day! No doubt a few other members of the Team will suddenly appear and before you know it there’s a party going on!🥳

We will meet in The Motley Cru Bar at 9.00am for Coffee and you all know the Coffee here is fantastic!

If you can bring your own packed Lunch to enjoy in our “Sundowners Orchard” under the shade of our Apple Trees and then let’s all enjoy a fun Wine Tasting together at the end of the day.

Don’t forget Sunscreen & Hats and Water Bottles as it looks like it’s going to be beautiful weather all week!

Our Food Experiences here at Kenton Park Estate have become more popular than we could ever have imagined & we couldn’t be more thankful to see so many people here! Happy smiling faces enjoying incredible Food in a unique environment.

Kenton Park Estate is the home of “The Motley Cru” where you can enjoy the Wines from our Estate with fabulous vibrant, healthy Food - Food that is good for the Soul! Add a dash of magic provided by our incredible Team of Hospitality experts & it’s an experience that a lot of people are talking about, because the Team truly care that you having an amazing experience here at the Estate.

So we want to give a shout out on Instagram to find another Chef to join The Motley Cru. We don’t advertise anywhere as our reputation is spread by word-of-mouth. So if there is a Chef out there who is new to the area, or thinking of moving to this amazing part of Devon, you wouldn’t know we are here! So we’re asking our Instagram & Facebook community to spread the word for us that we’d love to welcome aboard another Chef.

We have an incredibly busy Season ahead & we love nothing more than presenting our guests with beautifully curated Food! It goes without saying that it’s fresh, local produce, often grown here in our own Kitchen Garden & served in many unique Dining spaces throughout the Estate including:

* Our beautiful “Olive Tree Courtyard” for Alfresco Mediterranean-style Dining.
* African-style Safari Huts where guests “DINE in the VINES”.
* The “Tasting Room” is our Main Restaurant space.
* The “Barrel Room” provides Private Dining space
* Our Botanical-themed “Pavilion” in the Paddock hosts Events every week.
* Our “Sundowners Orchard” is where we host our “FIRE + FIZZ” Events - a Fire Cooking Feast.
* “The Cooperage” providing a new Dining Experience.

So plenty of exciting Foodie Experiences to get involved with & we’re always happy to create new Food Experiences using fresh ingredients which we have in abundance being so close to the Sea & surrounded by our amazing Farming community. Just look at all that incredible🫜Beetroot picked fresh from our Kitchen Garden here at the Estate.

Several different varieties all grown by Anna, our amazing Horticulturist!

These Beetroots are bring prepared by Louis in readiness for our 🐠“FISH + FIZZ”🥂 Night this Friday!

The flavour is so amazing - all organically grown without anything sprayed on them - grown in the best quality compost - so you know it’s incredibly healthy.

Louis is going to serve it 3 x different ways, blanched, pickled and puréed alongside our Treacle cured Trout. So you have to try it on Friday Night as you know it’s journey from our Kitchen Garden to our Kitchen Cabin - it’s a journey less than 20ft!! Swipe left to see the full Menu. Just wanted to give a shout out to Martin & the Team here who made a staggering number of our hugely popular “Motley Cru Deli Feast Platters” on Saturday!

What a whopper of a day!

The Vineyard Kitchen went into overdrive as they created Deli Feast Platters for over 70 people! Wow!

We know they are amazing and everyone LOVES them with a delicious selection of Artisan Cheeses & fabulous Charcuterie, Martin’s lovely Quiches, lots of other Local Deli produce surrounded by Tomatoes on the Vine, bunches of Grapes, lots of colour from all the fresh Fruits, Olives & Figs all interspersed with our range of Biscuits for Cheese and Danny’s freshly baked Bread.

The Motley Cru Deli Feast just makes everyone feel so HAPPY😍 and that’s the joy of sharing Food with Friends and Family here in your “Special Place!” at Kenton Park Estate.

An outstanding performance by the Team! “Thank You” everyone.

It was a “Full House” for our “ART in the VINES” Experience with Sienna on Saturday - or should we say - a full Greenhouse!

It was such a busy day here at the Vineyard on Saturday & because it was hideous weather, all of our indoor dining areas were full to their capacity with Events taking place everywhere indoors.

So our “ART in the VINES” Experience where you sip & paint out in the Vines was set up in a new unique location at the last minute in our brand new Greenhouse supplied by and what an amazing creative space it turned out to be.

Our 8 x Artists for the day were able to enjoy the view across the Vines from their “Glass Studio” as well as the view across the Orchard.

Inside our “Glass Studio”, our Artists could take Botanical inspiration from all the new varieties of Tomatoes that we’re growing for The Motley Cru Restaurant as well as enjoy the amazing scent from the stunning Pelargoniums.

The whole group had a fantastic day of Painting in this impromptu setting as well as sipping our Wines & enjoying a fabulous Feast created by The Motley Cru.

What a GREAT day!!

Sienna’s Studio here at the Estate is a hive of activity with several Oil Paintings being worked upon simultaneously. Hopefully we may catch a glimpse soon of a *NEW* painting that has just been commissioned of a client’s favourite Beach in Australia!

So don’t be surprised if you see Sienna splattered in paint, when she’s taking a break walking around the grounds usually with her dog Indie following close behind!

FRIDAY NIGHT | PIZZA & COCKTAILS | 5.30PM We are going to have such a FUN Night tomorrow night!

It’s going to feel like a “Lock-in” as we fill the Winery Building & Tasting Room with everyone’s Tables for PIZZA + COCKTAIL Night. Come & join us!!

🎉It’s going to be quite the party atmosphere with Live Music from ⚡️CHARGE!

The Motley Cru will be at the ready creating our amazing Cocktails.

The Pizza Menu looks divine!

If you ask The Motley Cru Team about our Pizza & Cocktail Nights, they’ll all tell you they love hosting these Friday Night Events because they’re so casual & relaxed!

Not sure the Chefs would agree with that when they’ve got 70 or more orders for Pizzas on the night, but the rest of The Cru really enjoy Pizza & Cocktail Nights, especially sharing Pizzas together at the end!

We love hearing the explosions of laughter & giggles around the tables - must be something in those “Motley Magic Cocktails” that Ben knocks out at high speed whilst overseeing the rest of the Cru making Cocktails.

If you haven’t been to a Pizza & Cocktail Night here before, then it’s definitely entertaining to watch the action in the Bar. Email [email protected]

In the early days we did have some hilarious moments behind-the-scenes when someone (not mentioning any names but they know who they are) would accidentally leave the lid off the Blender and we would all get showered in the Mango Daiquiri mix. Or someone would trip over with a Cocktail Tower!

Those were the days!!

We’re much more professional now but these evenings have lost none of their earlier magic!

If you want to join us, we have limited dates available this Season because we’ve got Live Music this year, so our Pizza & Cocktail Nights got booked up before we had a chance to promote them.
