A long post today—sorry!

That was the week that was.

Once again, a huge thank you to almost everyone who supported us in the launch of The Plough after 22 years.

Thank you also for the many gifts, but the overwhelming gift of the week was our guests. We have received so much thanks and gratitude for resurrecting the pub and putting it back at the heart of the community.

Wednesday saw the launch, with drinks and canapés, and the joy and atmosphere were electric.

Thursday and Friday saw the launch of our bar and garden menu. Not without its glitches, but our team is taking on feedback and working hard to achieve perfection.

Saturday saw the Gunners come to The Plough in great spirits. Unfortunately, the result was not as desired, but your commendable behavior and spirit were exemplary. Congratulations on your Premier League win.

Sunday saw our first Sunday roast, which received great feedback and reviews.

I'd like to give a big shout out to the team, many of whom were experiencing the start of their working journey in life. They were exceptional.

We are now close to having full internet connectivity, so our till and payment systems will be fully operational, making our guest experience even better.

Our tweaks and changes continue daily to iron out those opening glitches, so please bear with us.

For the very few: kindness is free, while being rude is disrespectful. Our journey has been tough, our bank manager is in therapy, and we are all on this journey together.

For our younger guests, we continue to develop our play area for your enjoyment. However, it was sad to see that every game was broken or damaged within just a few days. They are expensive to replace and are there for everyone to enjoy.

We are almost ready to launch our World Cup offer, so keep an eye out for the latest updates.

In addition, our stable restaurant menu and breakfast menu will be launching soon.

We are so grateful for your support and hope you have enjoyed seeing The Plough back at the heart of Elstree.

FULLY BOOKED!

Thank you for the incredible response to our Champions League Final screening at The Plough.

We are now fully booked for Saturday's match and all tables have been allocated.

We can't wait to welcome everyone for what promises to be a fantastic evening on our garden cinema screen as Arsenal take on PSG.

A reminder that this is a family-friendly event, with all seating reserved in advance. Please arrive in good time before kick-off so we can get everyone settled into their tables.

We are excited to announce that we have secured the Champions League Final to be shown on our garden cinema screen.

Arsenal v PSG
Saturday 30th May • Kick-off 5:00pm

This is a family friendly event and is there to be enjoyed by all.

Bookings are now being taken by phone only on 0203 150 3737.

Our sporting events do come with a couple of rules

Enjoyment is compulsory, with the following restrictions:

• Swearing is not permitted
• Wearing club shirts and colours is encouraged, but shirts must remain on at all times
• This is an all-seated event, with no standing during the match
• No comments or behaviour deemed offensive towards any person will be tolerated

It may sound like a lot, but we want our events to be enjoyable and inclusive for everyone.

Booking is required, and please state that your booking is for the game so we can allocate tables with the best possible views.

So, after 10 years, the lights came back on at The Plough, Elstree Village.

A wonderful evening was had, full of laughter, cold drinks, and amazing canapés. Our reservations are now open for the weekend and beyond, where you can enjoy our wonderful bar and garden menu, the beautiful sunshine, and great hospitality.

Hi Elstree and all,

The long awaited return of The Plough as your local village pub has finally arrived.

We are overwhelmed by the support and interest you have shown us and would like to thank you all for such a warm welcome.

To give our new team the opportunity to hone their skills, we will be launching softly to allow us to stress test both our team and the building.

On Wednesday evening, 27th May, we will be limiting numbers to 75 guests for the opening of the bar, with our team serving canapés throughout the evening.

On Thursday 28th May, our bar and garden menu will launch from 12pm through to close. We will be limiting numbers to 80 guests for lunch and 80 guests for our evening service.

On Friday 29th May, we will be increasing capacity to 100 guests for each service.

We have agonised over how best to accommodate everyone, but to be fair to our new team, we felt it was sensible to open softly. However, we are already planning a huge celebration party in the not too distant future.

To be part of the launch, we would like you to request a preferred day and time that suits you & whether you are joining us for food or just drinks, on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday via Facebook, just as many of you have already been doing with your wonderful comments to date.

Based on demand, we will confirm whether we can accommodate your request and secure your booking. We are more than happy for you to give more than one day as a preference.

We do hope everyone understands and won’t be disappointed.

From Saturday 30th May onwards, there will be no restrictions. We will be open from 12pm, although bookings would still be very helpful.

We are incredibly excited to welcome you all to The Plough Elstree. Sounds good, doesn’t it? 😉

Does anyone by any chance know someone at Openreach or have a contact there? Despite our best efforts, this could delay our opening if we can’t get a response.

Hi Elstree and all
So our next announcement will be the much anticipated launch date for the new Plough.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank our entire build team for their dedication and workmanship over the last seven months.
Also a huge thank you to everyone who has gifted us flowers,cakes, pictures we are so grateful.
We are so excited to be part of this community and putting a pub back at the heart of the village.
One final thought
In a world that’s far from perfect, a country where politicians don’t understand the damage they are causing small businesses, a society where we are divided by race, colour or gender
There is now a pub where we leave problems at home and join together as one collective community.
A pub where we come to laugh, cry and have fun together.
Where we will enjoy great food, drink and hospitality.
A pub where we support each other as one because our pub is EVERY ONES LOCAL
