The Half Moon is an award-winning city local that's stayed true to its roots. You'll find all sorts of interesting features in our grade-I listed Tudor building, which was chosen by the BBC as an ideal backdrop for its George Gently series. Quality beer is just as important to us: we've featured in the Good Beer Guide for 30 years running, with CAMRA giving our cask ales their seal of approval. In summer, you can take your pint out to our picturesque riverside courtyard and soak up great views of the cathedral. If you like your locals uncomplicated, then The Half Moon Inn could be right up your street. Perfect, in fact, if you're looking for a good old-fashioned pub in Durham, that's near to the river, Elvet Bridge or Durham University.
