This is Kelvin showing our newest member of our team, Rob how our bottling machine works before a full day of bottling our beautiful bottle conditioned beer.
Why do you bottle condition your beers ? I hear you ask .
Well, it's because we believe it makes a better beer.
Bottle-conditioned beer goes through a natural secondary fermentation in the bottle, allowing it to mature and develop over time rather than simply being filtered, carbonated and sent straight out the door.
The result is natural carbonation, greater depth of flavour, a softer mouthfeel and a beer that continues to develop character in the bottle.
It takes more time, more care and more patience, but that’s exactly the point.
At Durham Brewery, we don’t rush beer. We give it the time it deserves. 🍺
