Drop the Anchor Brewery

Drop the Anchor Brewery Welcome to Drop the Anchor, Multi Award Winning Brewery based in Christchurch Dorset/Hampshire boarder. Take aways can be purchased in 2 & 4 pint containers.

Welcome to Drop the Anchor Brewery based in Christchurch Dorset. The Brewery Tap opened in May 2017, and serves a selection of handcrafted beers, all unfined on principle. Production is concentrating on three main brews and one experimental, and take their names from local history. The Brewery is a short scenic walk from Christchurch centre, over the two River Avon bridges, and at the rear of the

Emporium in Bridge Street. When the Emporium is closed (after 5pm) access is via the back entrance in Stoney Lane, but the Emporium car park can still be used. Our Goals at Drop the Anchor Brewery will be to build a reputation for handcrafted care, time-honored methodology, and the finest natural ingredients from around the world, as well as housing a friendly tap house/ Brew bar

Drop the Anchor Brewery handcrafts its beers in small 30-40 cask batches under close personal attention. The latest brewing equipment and technologies are seamlessly combined with traditional brewing methods to ensure consistently excellent taste, whether packaged in bottles or Cask. But the main goal is to provide and drink more beer!

Well, what a lovely surprise! I've just received this fantastic gift from the incredibly talented Becca Perl, a brilliant local artist who celebrates the very best of Dorset's food and drink scene through her artwork. I absolutely love it. Thank you so much, Becca. It's beautiful and will take pride of place in our new kitchen... although Willow seems to think it's destined to become her new comfort blanket!

This wonderful tea towel features an original illustration packed with some of Dorset's finest food and drink, giving a well deserved nod to our amazing independent producers. I'm chuffed to see a Drop the Anchor pint sitting alongside local favourites including Little Waddon's Col Fondo, Dorset Sea Salt, Baboo Gelato, Olives Et Al, Dorset Blue Vinny, Conker Coffee Liqueur, Dorset Naga chillies, Chococo chocolates, Bad Hand Coffee and Dorsetshire Sauce.

Not only is it a lovely piece of art, it's practical too:
100% unbleached cotton
Made in the UK
Printed with eco-friendly inks
Durable, machine washable, and complete with a handy hanging loop.

If you're looking for a unique gift or simply want to celebrate the incredible producers we have here in Dorset, I'd thoroughly recommend having a look at Becca's work.

A huge thank you again, Becca. Supporting local, celebrating local, and now drying the washing up in style. Cheers!

What a weekend, and what an event! One of my absolute favourites at Drop the Anchor Brewery has to be our Unsigned Sessions, celebrating and supporting incredible local grassroots musicians. There's something special about giving talented artists a stage and watching people discover their next favourite band.

A huge thank you to our brilliant host, Rees-Coshan, who once again steered the ship and pulled together a fantastic line-up. Massive thanks as well to everyone who came along to support. A bit of wind and the odd shower certainly didn't put you off, and that's what I love about our community. Live music is alive and well, and whether you're selling out arenas or playing your first gig, music is music and it deserves to be heard.

The day had everything. We even had a power cut across the grid! Not to be beaten, Paul jumped into action and we powered the stage from his car until the electricity came back on. Those unexpected moments are the ones that become the stories you'll be telling for years. You couldn't make it up!

A huge thank you to my amazing team, Dylan, all the artists, and everyone behind the scenes who made the day such a success. We're already planning our next Unsigned Session, and we can't wait to do it all again.

A special shout-out to our fantastic performers:
