Well, not the the result we all hoped for but still, England done us proud 🏴
It’s been a crazy few weeks, and now that excitement has come to an end, as a club we look ahead to a new football season, loads of events and a whole lot of fun.
As many of you are aware, we have recently been taken over by new ownership (and Chairman), and I’m sure you’d like to take the opportunity to welcome Dan into the club, and wish him all the best, if you haven’t already.
Although Dan’s actually been around since late April, we haven’t officially welcomed him yet, as it was a sudden decision, with him being thrown in the deep end, and he’s been hard at work learning the ropes.
The change over from old owner to Dan brought a seriously challenging time for the club. Statutory requirements were neglected, as well as the club in general, unpaid bills came through the post daily, there was a serious divide between our football teams and their clubhouse, and worst of all, serious discrepancies were discovered with the accounts.
This has seen several months of legal conversations, meetings, severed friendships, feelings of betrayal, and quite a few tears, but a resolution was finally reached and Dan, John and everyone involved has managed to get the club back where it should be.
We cannot thank everyone for their patience, support and advice in some very difficult times and we thank you in advance for your continued support as we enter a new era.
John Breaker, I’m sure there was a sense of déjà vu for you when you returned as Chairman (after many years) following your predecessors mismanagement and, despite facing way more challenges than anticipated, you’ve worked tirelessly to help us restore the club to its rightful place! Your dedication and love for this club has shone through time and time again. You may no longer be our Chairman, but you will forever have a place in our hearts, and at the bar of course 😉.
Dan’s already made his mark and I’m sure you’ve all noticed that the club is buzzing again! So, with the new season bringing a fresh start, new opportunities and a whole host of exciting plans, now seems like a good time to say an official ‘welcome, and all the best’ to Dan! 🔵🔴
