Come and feast on homemade traditional pub food which is all sourced locally and at the same time appreciate the beautiful scenery of the large garden surrounding the building. If it's cold outside the tranquil views can be enjoyed from the conservatory where you can

enjoy warm food and beverages while watching the variety of different birds in the aviary . Once you have had your meal, why not savor a drink in the separate bar with many choices of beverages and comfortable seating with log burning stove on those winter nights. If there is a special occasion on the horizon, book your party in the function room which can hold up to 60 people. The Cottage Bar and Restaurant is easily accessible with no need to struggle with parking as there is a large car park on the premises.

We’re open today with our usual Sunday Roast served from 12:30pm-6pm ⏰

We at the Cottage were saddened to learn of the passing of Hector MacLennan.

Hector first opened the Cottage Bar and Restaurant on 30th November 1979, telling us he sold his very first pint of lager to a John Mackay at 6:40pm that evening. We still proudly have the £1 note hanging on our wall to mark the occasion.

On 30th November 2025, we were incredibly proud to reopen the Cottage in honour of his legacy. We have carefully preserved the original bar top and chairs, features Hector spoke of with great pride from the early days of the pub.

Hector had a gift for storytelling, and his wisdom and advice meant a great deal to us. He will be greatly missed.

We’re looking for a Modern Apprentice Chef to join our team and start an exciting career in a fast-paced, creative kitchen.

At The Cottage, you’ll learn while you earn, working alongside a multidisciplinary team producing dishes you can be proud of, from comforting classics to modern favourites.
