🎉🍻🥂 Weekend incoming! 🥂🍻🎉

What a week we've had. A cracking bank holiday weekend, plenty of sun and lots of lovely customers through our doors. Huge thanks to all of you who came along, and of course to our various hosts and guest musicians.

Onwards and upwards to the next one- you know the drill by now. Our quiz returns on Friday from 8.30pm; karaoke on Saturday from 8.45pm and on Sunday we're delighted to welcome Jay Deeh back to sing for you from 4pm.

Our salads, platters and Ploughman's lunches are going down well, and these will be on offer again alongside our usual roasts from midday to 4pm on Sunday. Advance booking very strongly advised!

Oh, and heads up- there's no quiz on Friday 5 June as we'll be offering another evening of Rock n Roll Bingo. Booking, again, very much advised.

So pop in, say hi, enjoy a cold drink or two while the good weather's still with us. See you soon!

🌞🌞🌞 Good morning, and a very happy Bank Holiday Monday to you all! 🌞🌞🌞

Our Summer specials are now up and running- we've been busy serving salads and platters galore. Pop in and try one for yourself, if you have a hankering for something a little lighter in this fabulous weather.

Our kitchen's open until 4pm today, and from 4pm we have music from the brilliant Marilyn Sky Music, bringing a feelgood mix of tunes spanning the decades and genres.

☀️☀️☀️ Our Summer menu has landed! ☀️☀️☀️

Featuring all of our classic dishes, plus new additions of Ploughman's; cheese and charcuterie platters; and a range of delicious salads. Take your pick from Cheese and Ham; Greek; Niçoise; Chicken Caesar; or Roquefort, Pear and Walnut if you're feeling particularly posh. All served with crusty bread, butter and dressing on the side.

Our Ploughman's and salads are now available to order all week, including on Sundays alongside our classic Roasts menu. So if you fancy something a little lighter, pop in and bag one alongside a crisp, refreshing drink.

Our kitchen is open 7 days a week, lunchtime service 12-3 on Monday to Thursday, 12-7 on Friday and 12-6 on Saturday. To book a space, simply call us on 01304 380321 or drop us a message.

⚠️ Heads up! ⚠️

Our kitchen will be closing early tomorrow to cater for a private function. Our menu (including NEW Ploughman's and a range of salads for Summer) will be available from midday to 2pm.

Normal service will be resumed from Friday, open 12-7pm, Saturday 12-6pm, and Sunday 12-4pm for our delicious Sunday roasts.

🍷🍻 Get ready for a brilliant weekend at The Sportsman! 🍻🍷

Tonight: our much‑loved quiz night returns. Bring your sharpest minds, your best team name, and take on Sholden’s finest. Great music, great laughs, and a whole lot of fun, from 8.30pm (our kitchen is open from midday to 7pm, for those who would like to make a night of it).

Saturday: it’s karaoke night once again. Last week we welcomed some fantastic new singers alongside our regular stars — why not jump up and show off your own vocal talents? Kitchen hours: midday to 7pm.

Sunday: our hugely popular Sunday roasts are back. Expect generous portions at reasonable prices, fresh local produce from the award‑winning Walmer Court Farm Shop, and a buzzing, friendly atmosphere. Advance booking is, as ever, strongly recommended 😋

Serving 12pm–4pm, followed by an eclectic live set from Kelvin Pratt at 4 — singalongs and dancing very much encouraged. Kelvin's last gig with us was a blast, and Sunday offers more of the same 🎶
