🎃 WE’RE STARTING HALLOWEEN AT THE SAIL LOFT EARLY! 🎃

The Sail Loft is about to get seriously spooky. Tonight, Friday 30th October, DJ SOPHIE SEA is taking over the decks for our HALLOWEEN DISCO, with a feel-good house set that’ll have even the ghouls & ghosts throwing some serious shapes. Sophie has spent over 18 years teaching exercise to music, so expect big smiles, brilliant beats & a dancefloor full of ghosts & ghouls.

We’ll be serving our Spooky Halloween Cocktail Specials all weekend including:-
🧟 Zombie brain shots
🍹 Sour shots
🧙 Witches Brew

as well as
🍺 Colour-changing b**r (yes, really!)
🎃 & Freya’s delicious homemade pumpkin soup, served from midday tomorrow

As you know Fancy dress is very much encouraged at The Loft, & even more so at Halloween! Come as a witch, a vampire, a pumpkin, a zombie... all souls welcome, the more haunting the better. So don’t be a scaredy-cat, get yourself down to the Loft from 3pm today….

What a weekend! Dartmouth Food Festival we loved every minute. Thank you to everyone who joined us under our roof for a weekend of rum tastings, gin samplings & seriously good cocktail concoctions, alongside the most delicious food. Huge highlights included dancing the evening away to James Harris Sax & DJ Rich Baker, & spotting Rick Stein, Mitch Tonks & Tom Parker Bowles relaxing on our sofas with a Guinness, c***r & Bloody Mary in hand! Our Kitchen Confidential event brought together some truly incredible chefs, Fabulous Fizz on Sunday was every bit as fabulous as it sounds, & Freya’s sharing platters were simply divine. A massive thank you to all the Food Festival volunteers who kept everything running so smoothly, & to our brilliant Sail Loft team for working so hard all weekend. Another one for the record books.

But the fun doesn’t stop there!

Staropramen, £5 a pint! A Czech classic brewed in Prague since 1869, using nothing but quality hops, barley & yeast for a smooth, perfectly balanced pint. Oktoberfest Bingo is fully booked upstairs in the Lounge, but we’re open as usual for drinks & food downstairs in the Bar.

Fri 30th Oct - HALLOWEEN DISCO with DJ Sophie Sea from 8pm! Expect uplifting house music, feel-good beats & a dancefloor full of good vibes, courtesy of a DJ whose love of music & movement runs deep. Whatever your dancing style, this one’s set to be a high-energy, high-vibe night you won’t want to miss.

Sat 31st Oct - Cosy up Saturday afternoon with toasties & Freya’s homemade pumpkin soup, the perfect Halloween pick-me-up!

Plus Halloween cocktails all weekend long! Every day - Happy Hour 3-5pm & 9-10pm: 2 cocktails for £15.

DAY 3 OF DARTMOUTH FOOD FESTIVAL AND FINALLY THE SUN IS SHINING. HOORAY!

We’re opening our doors at 10am today for another day of good food, good drinks & good company, & we are so excited to welcome you in again.

This morning is also the 4th year we’ve hosted “Kitchen Confidential” at The Sail Loft! Join Andy Clark & some of Dartmouth Food Festival’s top chefs from 11am to 12pm for an interactive chefs’ panel & tasting session, with a good old gossip about food, drink & whatever else takes their fancy. It’s sold out, so a big thank you to everyone who has booked. We can’t wait to see you! We are open till 6pm today.

No ticket? No problem. You are welcome to join us in our ground floor Bar. The coffee machine will be ON, the Bloody Marys will be FLOWING, & Freya’s gorgeous warm croissants & freshly baked goodies will be waiting for you.

So grab your sunnies, round up your favourite people & pop along to see us on this sunny Sunday. There’s always room for one more at The Loft.

Day 2 of Dartmouth Food Festival & we are buzzing!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday. You filled The Sail Loft Dartmouth with good food, good drinks & even better company, & we loved every minute.

Our best sellers? Freya’s fabulous toasties with tomato soup on the side (the ultimate dunk) & our great selection of cocktails & spritzes went down a storm (pardon the pun!) If you missed out, today’s your chance to try it all.

We’re open from 12pm, so come on in, grab a cosy spot & settle in for the day.

And there are still a handful of spaces for our Devon Rum Co Tasting from 2.30pm to 3.30pm in our 1st floor Lounge. Learn the art of rum making from Giles Gray of Devon Rum Company, who started the business with Dave Seear in 2020. Two people who love Devon, the outdoors & rum, so you know it’ll be good. It’ll warm you right up!

& this evening from 7pm we have the legendary Dartmouth duo James Harris Sax & DJ Rich Baker in the loft so get ready for some incredible tunes and a bit of bar dancing!

It’s finally here! Day 1 of Dartmouth Food Festival & we’re so proud to be one of the main sponsors!

The countdown is on & we’re opening at 12pm today for a whole weekend of food festival fun, all under one roof.

Joe, Jake & Daisy are all back from uni, so we’re fully staffed & ready to serve you whatever you fancy - hot drinks, cold drinks, cocktails, b**rs, w**es &, of course, Freya’s fabulous cakes & bakes. Our lunchtime & evening menus are both on too today & tomorrow, with all the details on our website & our previous socials.

There are still a few spaces at today’s drinks seminar here at The Sail Loft! Bar Buoy pre-mixed cocktail sampling with Tim Ball of Bar Buoy. A fun session tasting a range of premixed cocktails & learning the secrets of a perfect mix. So why not join us for an early lunch, then hit the cocktails?

And with Storm Austen on the way, what better excuse to hunker down somewhere warm, cosy & full of good food & drink? Come and shelter with us!

Dartmouth Food Festival is almost here, & we’re the perfect pit stop!

We’re Dartmouth’s Hidden Gem at the end of Foss Street! Between all the exploring, tasting & wandering around this fabulous Festival, come & put your feet up in our stylish, warm & welcoming Bar & Lounge. Everything is homemade by the incredible Freya, & it’s made for sharing. Not sure what to order, don’t worry we’ve got you sorted.

COMING WITH A CROWD?
Go big & order for the table. Hummus & flatbread, padron peppers, a bowl of rosemary fries & a couple of pizzas to pass around. Evenings, add the Korean chicken & burrata with pesto, tomatoes & sourdough. Dip, tear, share, repeat.
DATE NIGHT OR COSY CATCH UP WITH A FRIEND?
Evenings, share some delicious pitted green olives marinated in herbes de Provence & the garlic prawns & chorizo, then share a pizza. Prawn & Asparagus is a great one. Lunchtime? Order 2 different toasties & share half each with some peri peri fries, no judgement. Pudding to share is optional, but we highly recommend the homemade raspberry frangipane with icecream.
FLYING SOLO?
Pull up a stool & we’ll welcome you with open arms! Lunchtime, try a toastie with salted crisps & a small bowl of Freya’s homemade tomato soup (lunchtimes only!) is the ultimate festival fuel. Evenings, two sliders, beef brisket or halloumi, & a side of salted fries.

PIZZA LOVERS - Our 8” pizzas are served at lunch AND dinner, so you can have one whenever the craving hits. Cheesy garlic flatbread, margherita, BBQ chicken, prosciutto, goat’s cheese, courgette & pesto, or prawn & asparagus. GF bases & vegan cheese available too.
LUNCH - Toasties, homemade tomato soup, pizzas & Lite Bites
EVENINGS - Sliders, pizzas & an even bigger Lite Bites menu, including Korean chicken, garlic prawns & burrata with sourdough.

WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK AT THE SAIL LOFT

It’s a BIG week for us & we’re super excited for Dartmouth Food Festival! The forecast might be dreadful, but don’t let it dampen spirits. There is so much going on this week that a bit of rain won’t stop us. Grab your friends, head down to Dartmouth & join us at The Sail Loft for a fun-filled few days of fabulous food, great drinks, live music & plenty of good times.

Here’s what’s happening...

WEDNESDAY 21ST - We’re open from 3pm as usual for drinks, but our kitchen will be closed for the evening while Freya works her magic & prepares her fabulous food for the weekend. Trust us, it’ll be worth the wait!

THURSDAY 22ND - THIRSTY THURSDAY IS BACK! - And we’ve got a good one this week... Madrí Excepcional! Our top-selling b**r takes centre stage, so come & enjoy a pint or two to get the festival celebrations started in style. Smooth, crisp & refreshing, it’s the perfect way to kick off a big weekend, & it’s the one our regulars keep coming back for. Bring a friend & raise a glass with us!

FRIDAY 23RD & SATURDAY 24TH - LUNCH & DINNER - We’re opening from 12pm on both days, serving our delicious lunch menu from 12pm to 4pm. Fancy a bite to eat while enjoying the festival? We’ve got toasties, pizzas, tasty bites & NEW this week, Freya’s delicious creamy tomato soup, the perfect warming treat! Our evening menu will be available from 7pm. Tables are still available to book, or simply pop in & see us. Walk-ins are welcome too!

SATURDAY 24TH - LIVE MUSIC! Get ready for a brilliant night with the amazing James Harris Sax & Rich Baker, the Dartmouth duo, playing from 7pm. Expect a fantastic atmosphere, great tunes &, no doubt, a bit of dancing on the bar. You won’t want to miss this one!

SUNDAY 25TH - THE PERFECT START TO YOUR SUNDAY - We’re opening bright & early at 10am to help you ease into Sunday in style. Your perfect Sunday morning combo? Bloody Marys & pastries, or coffee & croissants... whatever takes your fancy!

So, rain or shine, come on down, grab a drink, enjoy some fabulous food & soak up the festival atmosphere. We can’t wait to see you all!

We are so sorry but we are CLOSED this Saturday, but it’s for a very good reason, as we are hosting our last wedding of the year! We can’t wait to celebrate with the happy couple & all of their guests.

Fri 17th Oct - 🎤 Live Music with Amber Jade Smith from 7pm. An acclaimed South Wales singer-songwriter known for her dreamy, atmospheric sound, often likened to Kate Bush & Goldfrapp. With over 13 years behind her as performer, writer & producer, Amber’s earned praise from BBC Introducing for her “stunning, incredible voice.” Expect an intimate, powerful evening, don’t miss it.

Weds 7th Oct - Midweek Eats: buy 2 pizzas or 2 sliders & get a portion of fries FREE. Too good to pass up!

Thurs 8th Oct - Thirsty Thursday: buy 2 glasses of rosé & get the rest of the bottle free. The sun is set to make a comeback, so let’s keep rosé season rolling a little longer!

Fri 9th Oct - Live Music with Giles Nuttall, 7pm. A firm favourite & Sail Loft regular, Giles is back to kick the weekend off in style, so grab a table in the bar & settle in for the evening.

Sat 10th Oct - Sunset Social Club, 6.30pm-10.30pm. They’re back for round two after a summer spent DJing some of the Southwest’s best venues, & this time they’re taking over our very own “Pyramid Stage”. Expect a slow & relaxed start that builds into a full-on, fun-filled night, the perfect way to see the weekend out.

And don’t forget, our evening food menu is available from 5pm, & it’s not just pizzas & sliders! There are plenty of delicious lite bites on offer for your delectation.
