The nights are drawing in, and we’re quite happy about it.

Because autumn at The George means fireside evenings, something good for dinner, walks beside the River Tees and a comfortable room waiting for you when the evening is over.

Then there’s nothing to do the next morning but wake up slowly, head down for breakfast and decide what the rest of the day should look like.

If that sounds like your kind of weekend, make a night of it at The George.

Sunday mornings are better when there’s nowhere you need to be.

Start with a proper breakfast, order another coffee and take your time over the morning. Perhaps a walk along the River Tees afterwards, or perhaps not.

If you’re staying with us for the weekend, Sunday is for slowing everything down.

Make a weekend of it at The George.

When was the last time you had everyone around the same table?

From milestone birthdays and anniversaries to family gatherings, reunions and private dinners, The George is made for occasions that bring people together.

Gather around the table, enjoy good food and a glass or two, and let our team take care of the rest. And if some of your guests are travelling from further afield, they can make a night of it and stay with us too.

Autumn looks rather good from here. 🍂

As the leaves begin to turn along the River Tees, it’s one of the loveliest times of year to slow down and enjoy Piercebridge.

Wrap up for a riverside walk, take in the autumn colours, then head back to The George for something good to eat and a cosy afternoon indoors.

Whether you’re joining us for the day or making a weekend of it, we’d love to welcome you this autumn.
