October Quiz Night – Another long post 🙄😂😂
October quiz night was another success! Although numbers were slightly down due to the competition from “Trick or Treating”, we still had a fantastic turnout of 28.
The questions were varied again, although there was a request of “Can we have music instead of sport?” I’m sure Dave will include a music round at some point, but he has also had requests for sport, so he really can’t win!! 🙄🤷♂️😂
Not sure if I mentioned it, but I only read the questions………… 🫣😂
The quiz was won by The M & Ms, finishing a couple of points ahead of the teachers – presumably still in half-term holiday mode! 😂😂
Well done to The M & Ms, who very generously used their winnings to buy club membership at McNeils and STILL had £10 cash left! 👏
While The M & Ms were still basking in the glory of their victory, their team captain, Hilary, volunteered (or was volunteered!) to shuffle and cut the cards, and she did a magnificent job! 🙄😂
The first player to have a go was Rob, who absolutely smashed it and walked away with £280! 🎊🎉
Even more generously, Rob donated £80 back to the club. What a fantastic gesture from a genuinely great bloke!
Although we’ve only known Rob for a relatively short time, he has already become a big part of the club (obviously not in size 🫣😂 – only joking, pal!).
He and his posse support everything we do, are always willing to help, lend a hand or suggest ideas whenever they can, and have also been known to give the quizmaster a bit of “banter”! 😳😂😂. Thank you 💚
As Rob won on the first attempt, we didn’t want to disappoint anyone, so we carried on playing. Unfortunately, though, it wasn’t to be for anyone else, either for the cash prize or the chocolate! 🙈😂
The following people all had to undertake the dreaded “Walk of Shame”:
Hilary (who cut the cards and helped Rob, but nobody else! 🙄), Pam, Chris, Malc, Jane, Rob, Greg, Tim and Chris AGAIN! 😂
It’s a shame the teachers had already left, otherwise they would have been issuing a “Please See Me” message to all players, as this behaviour is truly unacceptable! 😂
