We specialise in custom boot fitting which is a service we offer free of charge by appointment. When winter weather really sets in, a good waterproof jacket makes all the difference. 3-layer waterproofs are designed for serious outdoor use, combining a waterproof outer fabric, breathable membrane and protective inner layer into one durable construction. It's a good day to do 50 miles!!

Best of luck to everyone involved in the Longmynd Hike today, especially those entering. You're already legends in our eyes. By the time you see this pole, you're nearly home and it's downhill all the way.

It's all hands on deck for us today.
🥾 Graeme and Emily will be in store from 9am. If you've placed a click and collect order it will be here for you unless you've specified otherwise.
🥾 James will be at registration with last minute bits if you need them.
🥾You'll find Frances on Corndon check point, give her a wave as you check in!
🥾 Will is on the start line thus year, he's entered the hike for the first time this year, Go Will!!!
🥾 Oscar (our son) and his Jamboree crew will be serving tea, coffee and bakes at registration for donations towards their fundraising. Please support them if you can.

Our Graeme (did I go a bit Cilla Black then!?) has been home a week now and reflects on his time at the Fjällräven UK Classic . "It was amazing" he said, with a great route and some lovely people. Everything was well organised, including the scone with jam and cream at the top of Styhead Tarn, what better way to enjoy a cup of tea!
The UK Classic is a 50km self supported 3 day hike, pop in and speak to Graeme if you wantto know more. 🥾

Have you been in store recently? If you have you might have noticed a subtle change, we have started playing ambient nature sounds 🐦‍⬛🍁

We have shied away from playing music in store as we all have such different tastes, and our choices might not reflect our everyone's (Emily is all about the 90s 🎶 James likes his rock and blues🎸)

Equally the sound of silence can be too stark. So, we set about finding something in between that felt like "us" and in doing so stumbled across https://mynoise.net/

MyNoise is set up by Stéphane, pictured below on one of his field recording expeditions. We subscribe and now have the pick of his compilations which we can tweak to suit our mood. We are currently enjoying his Primeval Forest mix. It's a great website, check it out 😊

Meet the team!

Our newest recruit is Will, he is a keen hiker and photographer with a love of the outdoors, from local days exploring the Shropshire Hills and training for the Longmynd Hike, to mountaineering in the Italian Alps and climbing adventures in France. He enjoys combining time in the mountains with photography and is always looking for the next challenge.

It's been a busy weekend for the boys on The Outdoor Depot team; James took on the Tour De Marches 26 miler on Saturday, Greame headed off on the Fjallraven Classic, Will celebrated his 21st birthday and Buddy got himself a smart new bit of merch from Romy Design. Happy days all round!

Meanwhile this week, new Autumn Winter stock continues to arrive🧤👕👖

Also, we'll be closing at 4pm on Wednesday 16th 🙃
