Set in the heart of rural Staffordshire, The Black Lion pub is a homely but traditional drinking house, with a fine selection of real ales, wines and spirits. Having undergone an extensive refurbishment, we now offer traditional pub food daily alongside log fires, a cosy atmosphere and a warm welcome to patrons old and new.

Just an update . Severn Trent are carrying out work on Hollow Lane . There is no access to our car park from the main road . Access is still possible via Ostlers Lane onto Hollow Lane .
We have been told this is the case until Friday .

We are open as usual for food and drinks .

I have sooo much content to go through from our festival weekend that I can’t wait to share with you all but firstly I wanted to say the biggest thank you to my partner in crime in planning the whole weekend ⭐️ we absolutely could not have done any of this without J.R and his incredible work, from initially asking him to help me months ago with a little idea we had to then him having to deal with me constantly on the phone daily as plans got bigger and bigger 🫣 he has had the patience of a saint and a heart of gold, the hard work and planning that he put into the weekend was second to none and I’m eternally grateful, what we achieved this weekend has made him a Black’Un LEGEND for sure!! 💪🏻🤎

WOW. It’s hard to find the words to describe the feeling this weekend has given us as a family, to see that many people visit our little pub to support us is truly amazing. What an INCREDIBLE weekend 🤎

To our staff, the best team in the world, THANK YOU. None of us knew what this weekend would bring, safe to say it brought a lot of long, hard shifts for our staff but they absolutely smashed it from start to finish and we couldn’t be prouder 🤎💪🏻

Running a pub is no easy task, it’s certainly a lifestyle more than a job and many people don’t get to see all the hard work and endless jobs that go on behind the scenes to get the pub ready to open each day and running smoothly, especially with raising two children at the same time 😅 but what an honour to call this pub our own and to nurture it into what it is today, proud is an understatement 🤎
