We are a local pub with local interests in good quality fresh food, excellent service and friendly faces. Our menu is printed every day so there is always something changing. We have a playground in our garden complete with a refurbished Massy-Ferguson tractor for the children (and adults) to play on. Behind the bar we stock an ever changing selection of cask ales from Berkshire and the surrounding counties along side a unique wine list and an extensive selection of whiskies from all over the world.

Join us on Saturday 19th September for our End of Summer Barbecue as we give the summer a fitting send-off (weather permitted).

We've had an amazing summer and would like to thank everyone who has visited us. Whether it was for a midweek meal, Sunday roast, or for one of our many events. You all mde the summer amazing for us.

We'll be serving our classic barbecue menu throughout the day, while Joseph James performs live from 2pm to 6pm, providing the perfect accompaniment to an afternoon in the garden.

Pete will be behind the Spritz & Cocktail Tent, keeping everyone refreshed, while Beth will be on hand with garden games to keep younger guests entertained.

If you can't make it on the Saturday, our barbecue will be running all weekend, from 5pm on Friday through to 6pm on Sunday.

There's no need to book – simply come along, find a spot and enjoy the last of summer with us.

A little reminder that our meal tickets have a November expiry date on them, so it’s a good time right about now to have a root about in old bags, pockets, ‘that drawer’ to see if you have any that might need using up by November 19th.

Six of the meal tickets will get you £12 off a main course or light bite.

Monthly Dog Walk – Saturday 19th September 🐾

Join us for our next friendly dog walk on Saturday 19th September.

We’ll be meeting at the pub at 10am, where you can enjoy a complimentary bacon sandwich and a cuppa before we head out together. This month we will be doing the walk to raise funds for Macmillan, so please bring some extra change and some tupperware!

From there, we’ll set off on a relaxed 3-mile walk around Mapledurham, perfect for dogs and their humans to stretch their legs, socialise, and enjoy the countryside.

The walk is completely free, but we kindly ask that you book your place in advance.

CHARITY PUB QUIZ - THIS FRIDAY

On Friday 4th September, Adam will be putting your knowledge to the test from 8.30pm in the garden (weather permitting). Gather a team of up to six and put your heads together for the chance to win a hamper.

Tickets are £2.50 per person, with all proceeds going to Thrive, the gardening for health charity.

Our Head Chef Pat will also be serving a special quiz night nibbles menu, perfect for keeping those brain cells fuelled throughout the evening.

**ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE**

We’re still here, ready to welcome you, so please don’t let the road closure put you off your visit. 😊

Southern Gas Networks are carrying out urgent repair and maintenance works following a major gas leak on the A4074, between us and The Packsaddle. The road is currently closed, and diversions may mean your journey takes a little longer than usual.

The closure could remain in place until 2 September 2026, so please allow some extra time and plan your route before setting off.

Your table, your favourite drink and a warm welcome are still waiting for you!
