LARNE & DISTRICT SNOOKER LEAGUE

It's well done to QE2 B who tonight Wednesday 27th May travelled down to the Latharna Club in Larne and came back up the road with the Dr Scott Memorial Cup trophy.

It didn't look good as opponents St Johns won the first two frames on black ball fights but Stevie Quinn gave hope winning Frame 3 with a great 69 break. Gary Edgar levelled the match next at 2-2 and Jonny Nelson completed the comeback winning the fifth and deciding frame of the match.

BAKER & SHELDON DOUBLES CHAMPS !!!

🔴🔴🔴🔴🔴🔴🔴🔴

It's well done to Gavin Baker & Zak Sheldon. In an all QE2 Larne & District Snooker League Doubles Final they defeated Stephen Quinn and Gary Edgar 2-0 to lift the trophy.

Highlight of the night was sublime 108 clearance by Sheldon in the first frame of the match, great shooting Zak.

It's congratulations to Larne's Robbie Holden on winning Event 15 of our +5 AND ABOVE HANDICAP. In the Final he beat 13 year old Kai McWhirter in a close match by 11-9 to lift the £300 top prize.

Both players are now cut a shot due to the improvement in their game recently. Well done to both.

It's well done to Allan Cheshire (left in the photo) on winning Event 21 of our popular Snooker Handicap.

The Final went to a deciding frame as Allan edged it against Jack Carson winning 3-2.

BELFAST & DISTRICT SNOOKER LEAGUE

The final set of fixtures in this season's League took place last night, Thursday 7th May.

Recently crowned Champions QE2 B travelled to East and came away with a 2-2 draw. They trailed 1-0 until John Kane (2-1) levelled the scores and they trailed again at 2-1. But Gary Edgar (2-0) made sure they left with the draw winning the last pairing of the night.

QE2 A also finished their campaign off with a 2-2 draw as they entertained Ballygomartin C in Carrickfergus. Zak Sheldon (2-0) and Aaron Farr (2-0) both won for the hosts with Sheldon registering a classy 72 clearance.
