2 weeks till CARNIVAL- It’s that time again…raffle and tombola prizes needed for please!! These really contribute towards all the things we pay for to put the carnival on every year.

* The WI have kindly offered to do the teas and coffees again but we really need cakes and bakes 🍰 .
*volunteers needed for stalls please and to help set up and take down- we can’t do it without help and it’s fun honest!!

The hospitality sector has come together to launch – a united campaign and petition calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.

Spearheaded by chef and publican Tom Kerridge, we’re working alongside trade bodies across the sector, such as and , hospitality communities like , and you, businesses across hospitality, to say 10% VAT is fair for hospitality.

Our sector pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support venues, our customers, our high streets and our local communities.

This campaign is for everyone: businesses, customers, waiting staff, chefs, kitchen porters, bar staff, hotel teams, farmers, brewers, suppliers and producers.

Save the date! Village carnival Saturday 27th June.

Stalls 1-4pm and live music till later!

Maypole dancing, Drummers, Carlisle Utd, Action-Ants, Irish dancing, Ian Brown, D’Ukes, Punch n Judy and much more.

We will be collecting for the raffle and tombola soon…more updates to come! Please shout if you can man a stall even if just for a hour. Thanks 🤩
