Hello there!

Well, this was originally going to be a happy, fun post about how we'd managed to get hold of some of Q***r Brewing's epic 2026 Pride Series, just in time for, well, Canterbury Pride (we do, we have Leather IPA and Existence As A Radical Act Pale in keg, as well as Latex, Tiny Dots pils and Bodyshift GF in cans), but we've just heard the bad news 😔, that they will close their doors for good on July 31st.

Such a big shame, they have enriched the craft beer business over the last years, producing some fabulous beer along the way that has been enjoyed here and all around the country, all secondary to opening a few eyes and shutting many gobs at the same time. Unfortunately our whole industry is under attack, like never before, when busy, excellent businesses like this one can't continue it really makes you wonder. Sad times.

It's looking like a scorcher this weekend! Unfortunately we are not blessed with a garden at the Peg, but what we do have is some top quality, chilled to perfection world class lager (at the price of normally priced lager!) and some absolutely tip-top chilled beers, from all around the world, the beer list is outstanding at the minute (like a never ending beer festival of the very best kind!) along with some superb, top quality, freshly prepared cocktails.

So, if you're cooked like a turkey this weekend, or not, and would prefer a bit of shade and some chilled out vibes and eclectic tunes, come and see us, we're here for you as always!

The beers have been demolished, the votes are counted, here's the results!

Our largest voting pool ever, (thanks to the over 40 of you who voted!) produced the following....

🥇 Verdant - Putty - 7.99 (Average, out of 10)
🥈Track/Fuerst Wiacek - Harmonic 7.75
🥉 Basqueland - P***s de Aria - 7.58

Verdant win it again, now with 4 wins from our 7 festivals! With all of the other beers very close behind, nobody averaged less than 7!

🚧 Service Update 🚧

We are currently experiencing unforeseen broadband issues. This is due to a problem with the Openreach network and is not an internal issue.

From 4pm this afternoon, this is your line-up, voting cards available at the bar with every DIPA purchase, you can 'mark' as many or few as you like, put your name and a method of contact if you want to enter the draw for the big prize (the holy trinity of Westy heaven) and hand your slip back to the bar staff. Our next beer announcement comes with a bit of a story....

Robin Head-Fourman, formerly of Burning Sky and co-founder of Beak has decided to go it alone and has opened a nano-brewery at The Trevor Arms in Glynde, East Sussex. Starting last December he has already produced some cracking beer, and we're very excited to be able to showcase their first DIPA, Lattice, at DIPA-Fest 2026!! Get in there.
