This award is based on the reviews and experiences shared by our wonderful customers, so it genuinely means a great deal to our whole team. Every review, recommendation and kind word helps us continue doing what we love; creating great food, warm hospitality and memorable visits here at The White Horse Inn.

And if you’ve been following us recently, you may have noticed a few exciting changes taking place on our menus...

We’re delighted to welcome Chef Chris Lee and his kitchen team to The White Horse Inn, bringing new ideas, new dishes and a fresh perspective to our food offering. We’ll be introducing you to Chris and the team properly over the coming weeks, along with more of what they have been creating in our kitchen.

The White Horse Inn will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday while our team carries out a deep clean and gets everything fresh and ready for an exciting September ahead.

This week we're shining the spotlight on The White Horse Inn in Badwell Ash — a beautiful 16th-century coaching inn right in the heart of the village. 🏡

With delicious, locally sourced food, a warm welcome for all (yes, that includes our four-legged friends 🐾), and a lovely relaxed atmosphere, it's a fantastic place to eat, drink and unwind.

We’re absolutely delighted to share some fantastic news…

Our General Manager, Tom Sparkes, has been named Hospitality Hero 2026 at the Velvet Cambridgeshire & Suffolk Food & Drink Awards.

Since announcing Tom as a finalist, there has been an overwhelming amount of support, kind messages and encouragement from our customers and local community. Thank you to everyone who took the time to wish him luck and recognise the dedication he brings to The White Horse Inn.

This award is a well-deserved recognition of Tom’s passion for hospitality, commitment to customer experience and dedication to supporting the future of the industry. We are incredibly proud to have him leading our team.

We’re incredibly proud to share that our General Manager, Tom Sparkes, has been shortlisted for Hospitality Hero of the Year in the Velvet Food & Drink Awards 2026!

Tom is a huge part of what makes The White Horse Inn what it is today. His passion for hospitality, dedication to customer experience and commitment to supporting the future of the industry are recognised not only within our team, but across the wider hospitality sector.

Alongside leading the team here at The White Horse Inn, Tom has worked closely with organisations including Futures For All, Chef Whites at Suffolk New College, and Cambridge Regional College, helping to provide work experience opportunities, demonstrations and industry insight for young people looking to enter hospitality.

We’re delighted to see his hard work and enthusiasm recognised with this shortlist nomination; a very well deserved achievement.
