❤️ WE’VE CHOSEN OUR PUB CHARITY! ❤️

After lots of thought, plenty of discussion and a very difficult decision, we’re so pleased to finally announce that our chosen pub charity for the next year will be Freya the BRAVE v Neuroblastoma ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who sent us suggestions. We were overwhelmed by the number of amazing and incredibly worthy causes that were put forward. Choosing just one was certainly not easy.... there are so many fantastic charities and families who need support❤️

For those who don’t know Freya’s story, Freya is a local little girl who has been bravely battling Neuroblastoma since 2022. Sadly, she has now relapsed for a third time and faces another incredibly tough road ahead :(

The wheels are in motion for Freya to travel to America for a clinical trial, with the possibility of then having to travel to Rome for CAR T-cell therapy. The treatment in Rome and associated costs are expected to be in excess of £500,000...an enormous amount for Freya and her family to raise.

So, as a pub and as a community, we want to do our bit. 🥰

We’ll be putting on LOTS of fundraising events, challenges and fun activities at The Freehold Tavern, all with one goal... to raise as much money as we possibly can to help Freya get the treatment she needs. ❤️

We’ll also have a charity collection tin on the bar from this week, so if you’d like to donate, every single penny will make a difference.

We’d also really encourage everyone to take a look at Freya’s page, Freya the Brave vs Neuroblastoma, to read more about her journey, follow her progress and see exactly what this brave little girl and her family are going through. ❤️

We’re hoping that together, The Freehold Tavern family can really get behind Freya and her family. Let’s have some fun, raise some money and, most importantly, show Freya just how much support she has behind her. ❤️

📼🍺 ALRIGHT YOU LOT… IT’S TIME TO DIG OUT THE SHELL SUITS! 🍺📼

We’re going BACK TO THE 90s at the Freehold Tavern on Saturday 10th October from 7:30pm! 👀

And before anyone asks…

YES, YOU HAVE TO DRESS UP. 😂

We want the full works....shell suits, double denim, dungarees, bucket hats, crop tops, dodgy fringes and anything that looks like it came straight out of a 1998 Argos catalogue😂

Basically, if you look like you’ve just been kicked out of a Take That tribute act, you’re on the right track. 😂

🎶 We’ll be blasting out all the 90s classics... Spice Girls, Oasis, Britney, Boyzone, S Club 7, Blur, Vengaboys, Take That and plenty more absolute belters.

You know the drill…

First song comes on: “OH MY GOD, I LOVE THIS ONE!”

Three pints later...someone’s doing a dance nobody has seen since 1997.

And by 11pm, someone will have attempted the Macarena and pulled a hamstring. 🍻😂

👶 And then there’s Jen…

Born in 1995.... technically a 90s baby, but more of a late arrival to the party.😂🍻

So she’s claiming 90s credentials, but we’re not entirely convinced she remembers much of it! 🤷‍♀️🤣

Many of you have been following the national news over the last couple of days, here at The Freehold Tavern our hearts are absolutely broken for little Noah and his family💙

As fellow SEN parents, this story has really hit home. There are things that other people may not always understand about the extra worry, the constant awareness and the fear that comes with caring for a child who may be more vulnerable in certain situations.

From one SEN family to another, we are sending you all so much love 🤍

Rest peacefully, little Noah. 💙🕊️

🤠🎶 What a night! 🎶🤠

A night full of cowboy hats, boots, dancing and plenty of laughter! We could barely move...we were THAT busy! 🤠💃🕺

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who came along and continues to support Jamie, the team and I. Your support really does mean the world to us. ❤️

A huge thank you to our amazing staff team for all their hard work, who knew you could actually fit 5 people behind that tiny bar?! 😂🍻 You worked your socks off and we couldn’t do it without you!

And thank you to Barry for supplying the hay bales… although after spending an hour cleaning hay up this morning, I’m seriously regretting my life choices! 😂🌾

We’re also absolutely delighted to say that an amazing £110 was raised through the bar raffle for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. 📚❤️
Thank you to everyone who took part and helped us support such a brilliant cause. I will donate this to them later today!

Just a little note about the police presence last night...

We’ve heard a few rumours, so we just wanted to put everyone’s minds at ease. There was an incident towards the end of the evening which meant the police attended. They were originally responding to an incident that had happened out on Main Street, however, they did then have to come into the pub to diffuse an incident.

Sadly, sometimes alcohol can affect people’s judgement and behaviour, and while we can’t control everything that happens, we absolutely want everyone who visits us to feel safe, welcome and comfortable. We’re really sorry to anyone who felt unsettled or chose to leave early because of what happened❤️

Thankfully, this was only a small part of what was otherwise a brilliant evening, and we don’t want it to take away from all the fun that was had! ✌🏼

So, back to the cowboy hats, dancing, laughter and questionable dancing skills… 🤠😂

Thank you all for making it such a fantastic night!!! We genuinely couldn’t do it without your continued support. ❤️
