We should probably explain…

We know Halloween and St Andrews day are not one and the same!

Tonight our good friend David McComiskey is celebrating his 50th birthday at Quench so we thought we would get into the spirit (!!) of things and have a Scottish Halloween theme.

As per usual when we have a celebration here, the bar is open as usual with the top part reserved for the hosts and their guests.

🍻 Harvey's Brewery is back on the pumps! 🍻

Burnt sugars and roasted malts compliment the premium Maris Otter barley, supplanting the light bitterness of aroma hops. With hints of dried fruit and dates, this rich ale has been likened to the oak: steadfast throughout the year, regardless of the season.

🎉 20 YEARS OF QUENCH. 20 YEARS OF MEMORIES. ❤️

From October 2006 to October 2026. Twenty years. Where on earth has the time gone?

So much has changed since Quench first opened its doors. The faces behind the bar, the people in the kitchen, the menus, the music, the fashions, the hairstyles, the drinks, the technology and the world around us. Some things have changed beyond recognition, while others have remained part of what makes Quench, Quench.

We’ve lived through changing times, tough times and moments none of us could ever have predicted. Financial uncertainty, a global pandemic, lockdowns, rising costs and a world that never seems to stand still. We’ve adapted, reinvented ourselves, faced challenges and kept going.

But through it all, one thing has remained at the heart of Quench: the people.

❤️ The customers who walked through our doors for the very first time and those who have been coming back for 20 years.

❤️ The staff, past and present, who have put their own stamp on Quench, worked the long shifts, shared the laughs and helped create the atmosphere that makes this place special.

❤️ The friendships made, the celebrations shared, the first dates, the birthdays, the big nights out, the quiet coffees, the familiar faces and the memories that will last a lifetime.

Quench has never just been about serving food and drinks. It’s about being part of people’s lives, bringing people together and creating somewhere that feels familiar, whatever is happening in the world outside.

Twenty years on, we’re still here. Still evolving. Still making memories. And still incredibly proud to be part of Burgess Hill.

To everyone who has supported us, worked with us, celebrated with us or simply popped in for a coffee over the years, thank you. You are part of our story.

Here’s to the first 20 years, to the memories we’ve made, to the changes we’ve embraced and to whatever the next chapter brings.

For 20 years, Quench has been more than just a bar. And the best part of the story has always been the people. 🥂
