The Ormidale Open Conker Championship has been won for the second year in a row by Jo Godwin. She retains the title she won in 2025 with the same conker, that shw calls “Nutty Jim”.

The conker has remained intact throughout 8 matches, 30 opponents and two successive campaigns.
“ I’m sure Nutty Jim will be fully ripe by next year”, Jo said, adding “He’ll be harder than a woodpeckers lips!”
All the 15 other competitors in this years contest were gracious in defeat, even Dan and Tref Goronwy, and all agreed that Jo and Nutty Jim were worthy “Conkerors”.

Thanks so much to everyone who came to our quizzes over the summer and took part!
We’ve raised a cracking £1530.15
And thank you so much to the pupils from the music school who came along and gave us a fabulous taster of the music you’ll be playing in New York!

Our quiz tonight is our last summer fundraiser for the Isle of Arran Music School.
Quiz starts at 9pm - please come along early if you’d like to hear a wee demo of what our children have learnt and to help support them on their way to Tartan Week in New York 2027

And we’re delighted to be continuing with our support of the Music School.
Tonight some of the senior girls will be doing a wee demo for us so be there sharp if you’d like to catch them!

It's Thursday! So, it's Tommy's General Knowledge from 9pm and once again, we are proud to support Isle of Arran Music School's 2027 trip to New York! £1 Entry for the Quiz and Raffle Tickets available. Short performance by some of the Music School students from around 8.45pm.
