St George's Bristol is one of the country's great concert halls with a tradition of presenting world class artists in its intimate setting. A former Grade II listed Georgian church set within its own secluded gardens, is truly a hidden gem. Classical, Jazz, Folk, Roots, Spoken Word and Family Events take place throughout the year.

✨ 50 Things for 50 Years: 42 – Suspended in Silks!

Have you spotted something a little different on the front of St George’s? 👀

Created by artist Will Budgett and commissioned by Bristol BID as part of Brazen Festival Suspended in Silks transforms scrap metal, light and shadow into the striking silhouettes of two aerial acrobats dancing across our historic building.

And there's more to discover inside! Join us for a free behind-the-scenes exhibition exploring how the artwork came to life, from the first sketches to the final installation.

Our Community Ticket Club works with local charities and community groups to help older people across Bristol experience live music, connect with others and enjoy a warm welcome at St George’s.

From free tickets to a cup of tea and a friendly face, it’s about breaking down barriers, making live music more accessible and bringing people together.

We’re looking for new, original lyrics to Carol of the Bells! Take inspiration from winter, nature or whatever the season means to you; they don’t have to be about Christmas.

The winning lyrics will be performed by our Sing for Happiness choir at St George’s on Saturday 5 December.

Free to enter and open to anyone who doesn’t write lyrics professionally.

45 of 50 Things About St George’s: Our Apollo Sculpture ✨

Look up next time you’re in our Café Bar and you’ll spot Apollo – Luke Jerram Studio’s spectacular glass sculpture suspended overhead.

But it isn’t just beautiful to look at. Apollo’s shape was created from the soundwave of the opening ten seconds of Philip Glass’ Etude No. 2, rotated around its axis and transformed into glass. The piece was chosen because Glass performed the Étude on his first visit to St George’s in 2013.

And later this month, that story comes full circle as Máire Carroll performs Philip Glass’ Piano Études here at St George’s on Friday 23 October. 🎹

So when you’re grabbing a coffee or a pre-show drink, take a moment to look up – you’re standing underneath a piece of music made visible. 🎶
