🥳 12 YEARS OF THE OLD SPOT! 🥳

This Saturday we’re celebrating our 12th birthday and we’ve dug out a few photos from birthday parties gone by… there have been some VERY good ones over the years! 💜

This year we’re doing it all over again from 12pm ’til late

🎨 Face painting from 12pm
🎪 Circus activities for the kids
✂️ Kids’ crafts
🍴 Food served all day
🍺 Cold pints aplenty

Then from 3pm the live music kicks off…

🎶 with the shanty tunes
🎸 Aaron Shawt (AZ Acoustic)— he was SO good at our summer party in May that we had to get him back
🍀 MyTinMonkey finishing off the night with their brilliant Irish-ish party tunes

And even better… the sun looks like it might actually be shining! ☀️

Can you believe that next Saturday marks 12 YEARS of The Old Spot?! 🥹🍻

Honestly, it’s crazy to think about and our birthday is always one of our absolute favourite days of the whole year. The vibes are always brilliant, the pub is buzzing and hopefully the sun will be shining for us too. ☀️

We’ve got live music, loads for the kids, great food, cold pints and plenty more going on throughout the day.

So come on down, bring the family, grab your mates and come and say hello. 💛

MEET PHIL & AMY 👋🏼🥧

The husband-and-wife team behind Bristol Pie Society.

If you know us from The Gloucester Old Spot, you’ll probably know that we’re never very good at sitting still… and Bristol Pie Society is our next little adventure together.

Back in lockdown, we started making pies from the pub and what began as a small idea quickly turned into thousands of pies heading out across Bristol and beyond.

We always knew we wanted to bring them back properly and now we finally are!

Bristol Pie Society is the next chapter of The Gloucester Old Spot: proper handmade pies, made by us in Bristol, with four new flavours released every month.

Phil is the pie man 👨🏻‍🍳
Amy is the one making sure everyone knows about them. 😂

WE’VE BEEN KEEPING SOMETHING QUIET… (ish) 🥧

Alongside everything happening at The Old Spot, we’ve been busy working on our next little adventure…(those of you who know me and my husband Phil, you’ll know we love a project)

Remember Lockdown Pies? They’re officially coming back, this time as Bristol Pie Society.

Born from our love of proper handcrafted pies and very much the next chapter of The Gloucester Old Spot.

Bristol Pie Society will officially launch on 1st October.

There’s plenty more to tell you, and we’ll be sharing it all over the next few weeks, how it works, what we’ve been working on and, most importantly, the pies. 👀

We don’t normally close for two weekends on the bounce, but this September/October Amy may have got a little carried away and booked a few too close together… 😬

In her defence, they were booked just after the birth of her second daughter, so she’s absolutely blaming baby brain! 😂

A little later than anticipated… as always 😂

With our eldest starting school this week, life has been slightly hectic to say the least! But here we are, our September line-up 🎉

And it’s a big month for us… we can’t quite believe it, but this September marks 12 YEARS of The Gloucester Old Spot. Crazy, crazy, crazy! 💙

We’ve got loads going on throughout the month, including our 12th birthday celebrations, plenty of food, drinks and good times and we’d love to see you.

We’ve also got some VERY exciting news coming out over the next couple of weeks… 👀

Something big is happening at The Old Spot, so stay tuned. We cannot wait to share it with you! 💜

Today we had the absolute pleasure of hosting the City of Bath Male Choir for their summer social 🎶☀️

My Dad is part of the choir, which is why they chose The Old Spot for their summer get-together, so it was a really special one for us. ❤️

It turned into a proper family affair too, with our children there enjoying it all with us. After their meal, the choir headed out into the garden and treated everyone to a few songs, and it was just wonderful.

Seeing my Dad singing with the choir in our pub garden, with our children there watching too, was such a lovely moment and one I’ll definitely remember. 🥹

Thank you to the whole choir for choosing us for your summer social….what an absolute treat to have you all. 🎶🍻
