Today we say goodbye to our lovely Head Chef, Roland. ❤️
It feels really surreal that tonight is his last shift at The Exchange. Roland has been such a huge part of our business since the very beginning, and it’s hard to imagine the place without him 🥺
From the very start, when he came for his interview at The Doghouse, he must have wondered what on earth he was letting himself in for when he first met Declan… young, green and still finding his feet in the industry🤣… but Roland quickly became part of the furniture, and so much more than just our Head Chef.
He has always loved to teach, and one of our favourite things has been seeing that little glimmer in his eye when one of the younger chefs really takes on board something he’s taught them. His passion for passing on his knowledge has been so special to watch. It wasn’t just the younger chefs who learned from him. Declan and I have both learned so much from Roland over the years, and we will always be grateful for everything has given us, through the good, the bad and the ugly!
You will all know Roland and his cheffing. He is a true talent, someone who could turn his hand to pretty much anything and create something beautiful in every bite. He absolutely thrived in the kitchen, and his food has been a huge part of what makes us who we are at Hunt Leisure ❤️
Tomorrow, The Exchange will feel just that little bit emptier.
Roland, thank you. For your talent, your patience, your knowledge, your loyalty and, most importantly, for being you. We have been so lucky to have you alongside us, and gain you as a friend 🫶🏼
Good luck with whatever comes next. We know you will be amazing, and we hope you know just how much you will be missed 🤎
Only took 3 years for Roland to get Declan on the pass in some Whites 😅
