🚨 Toby Update! 🚨

Well… our Chief Quality Assurance Officer decided he wanted to supervise the kitchen a little too closely today! 🐶👨‍🍳

After spending far too much time investigating all the sizzling pans and delicious smells, he’s managed to leave his fluffy coat looking a little worse for wear. Nothing serious at all—he’s absolutely fine—but let’s just say he’s in desperate need of a haircut before he makes any more public appearances! 😂✂️

So, Toby has asked us to find him the best local dog groomer to get him looking his handsome self again before opening day.

Can anyone recommend a fantastic local groomer? Drop your suggestions in the comments below! 🐾❤️

The time has finally come.

🎉 WE CAN FINALLY REVEAL OUR OPENING DATE! 🎉

After months of planning, hard work, determination and one incredible transformation…

🚪 The Plough will officially open its doors at 11:00am on Wednesday 5th August! 🍻

From the very beginning, our ambition has been simple—to create a pub that Staining can once again call its own. Somewhere friends meet, families gather, great food is enjoyed, and memories are made.

This is more than just reopening a pub… it’s the beginning of a brand new chapter for The Plough, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

👀 We know… we know…

We’ve seen all the messages asking, “When are you opening?” and trust us… we’re just as eager as you are!

The finishing touches are happening behind the scenes, and we’re busy chasing away the last few gremlins that seem determined to slow us down. We’re not prepared to open the doors until we’re 100% confident we can give you the experience you deserve.

We’re so close now we can almost hear the glasses clinking, smell the food coming out of the kitchen! 🐾🍻

We’re still working hard behind the scenes, and we’re delighted to say the pumps are now installed… which means the beer is ready! 🍺

Over the next few days, we’ll be giving you a few sneak peeks of The Plough. We won’t be revealing everything though – the refurbishment looks absolutely amazing, and we want you to experience the full reveal for yourselves when you walk through the doors.

Why black and white? Because we want the stunning colours, finishes and attention to detail to be something you experience first-hand on opening.

Good morning everyone!

As your official Pawject Lead (and Head of Quality Assurance for all food-related matters), I thought I’d check in before Dad gets hold of the page…

The humans have been working really hard again this week. I’ve carried out numerous inspections of the kitchen, carefully supervised the contractors (mainly by lying in the way), and conducted several important taste tests. It’s a tough job… but someone has to do it.

Things are really coming together now, and I can honestly say I’m getting very excited to welcome you all. I keep telling Mum and Dad to hurry up, but apparently “there’s still a lot to do.” Humans are so slow.

For now, enjoy your Sunday, spend time with your family and friends, and remember… if you’re having a roast today, don’t let anyone tell you Yorkshire puddings only belong with beef. I strongly support them with every roast… purely in the interests of quality control, of course. 🦴😉

We haven’t forgotten about you… we’ve just been incredibly busy! 👋🍻

Firstly, thank you for your patience and continued support. We know we’ve been a little quieter on social media over the last week, and we’ve had lots of messages asking when we’ll be opening.

Although the contractors have now finished and handed the pub back to Star Pubs, the work certainly hasn’t stopped.

Behind the scenes we’re now taking delivery after delivery, building and training our team, stocking the bar and kitchen, organising suppliers, testing equipment, putting systems in place, and making sure every last detail is ready before we welcome you through the doors.

We’re determined to get it right first time. That’s why we haven’t announced an opening date just yet – we want to be 100% confident that when we do, it’s a date we can stick to.

We promise we haven’t gone quiet because nothing is happening… quite the opposite! Every day brings us one step closer.

Thank you for bearing with us. Your support, comments and excitement really do mean a lot to us, and we can’t wait to share the next big announcement with you very soon.

The countdown is well and truly on… 👀🍻

To everyone who attended our Recruitment Day or has taken the time to send us a CV, we know many of you are waiting to hear from us, and we want to reassure you that we haven’t forgotten about you.

So far, we’ve been in touch with around half of our applicants, but we still have more people to contact.

As many of you know, we’re currently still operating another venue and throw in England’s fantastic World Cup run, and it’s certainly been a hectic few weeks! ⚽for us 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

💚 Wow… where do we start?

We honestly didn’t expect such an incredible response, and we’re so grateful for the interest and support you’ve shown us already. It’s brilliant to see so many people wanting to be part of bringing The Plough back to the heart of the village.

We’ve now worked our way through all of the applications and will be getting in touch with people over the next couple of days.
