Hiya folks! Long story short: The Horse and Plough has had some roof lead stolen, and the roof and some signage has been damaged by the thieves. So we're looking to the community to help us get some justice.
Around 12.30-1.00am on the night of Friday 12th - Saturday 13th June, numerous sheets of roof lead were taken, and roof tiles were cracked, loosened and in some cases chucked off the roof. They've also pulled our big sign at the back off the wall, which will probably need to be replaced now.
The thieves used a wheelie bin to chuck some of the lead in - but not one of ours! If you live on The Paddock, or are one the businesses on the Long Acre near the Post Office Yard, you may be missing a wheelie bin or two - this is why!
If you live in that area and have CCTV or a doorbell camera, it would be hugely helpful if you could have a look for us between 1.00am and 1:10am on the night of Friday 12th to Saturday 13th - this is when he went to get a bin to put the lead in. You're looking for a youngish guy in shorts, a hoodie and trainers, short hair, no hat or face covering. He then walked down Needham Street car park with the bin, walking past the Methodist Church, dentist, library and Blu Salon - so cameras there will pick up our cunning thief around 1:10am.
Now's also a good time for local businesses to make sure all their cameras work and cover as many angles as possible.
Thank you all,
The H&P
