It’s always great to see groups of people learning about our beautiful building with one of the many walking tours in the city and they’re always welcome to walk inside and take some pictures of it as well. You don’t have to buy a drink to come and see what a Victorian Gin Palace looks like, of course we think it’s better enjoyed with a pint or a g&t but that’s just us 😊

Best day ever for our team morale officer as his idol Herbie OnWheels came all the way from Fermanagh for a visit. Whilst Winston was a little star struck and quiet Herbie went bananas and couldn’t contain his excitement but it looks like they could be best mates from this picture.

At stop 7 is one of Belfast's most famous pubs, the Crown Bar Belfast
The exterior is decorated in polychromatic tiles. This includes a mosaic of a Crown on the floor of the entrance. The interior is also decorated with complex mosaics of tiles. The red granite topped bar is of an altar style, with a heated footrest underneath and is lit by gas lamps on the highly decorative carved ceilings.

Built to accommodate the pub's more reserved customers during the austere Victorian period, the snugs feature the original gun metal plates for striking matches and an antique bell system for alerting staff. Extra privacy was then afforded by the pub's etched and stained glass windows. See if you can see the fairies, pineapples, fleurs-de-lis and clowns.

Our bar is covered in beautiful polychromatic tiles which made the exterior easy to clean in a smoke filled Victorian city. The workers who did the tiling were so proud of their work they left a tile on either side of the entrance with the name of the pottery that made them. Have you spotted them?

Most people know our beautiful main bar here at the Crown Bar Belfast is lit by gas lights but did you know that we have to change the mantles in them every 4 weeks or so. However the task isn't so bad when you have a view like this.

It takes 119.5 seconds to pour the perfect Guinness so waiting for your pint takes a little patience. When it looks this good though it’s definitely worth the wait.

Standing in the shadow of our famous neighbour just across great Victoria st, the two iconic buildings of the Europa Hotel and Crown Bar Belfast . They might be bigger than us but we’ve been going a little bit longer providing the people of Belfast and beyond with great hospitality for the last 200years.

Our beautiful bar and the rail across the ceiling with the original call for service bells still in place. You may have noticed that there are 10 letters but there are only 9 snugs. The extra letter J was for the bar to call the floor staff back to collect the drinks.
