A small creamy dome and perfect head!

🍺: Hagues Bar, Lisburn

Similar to , I review the pint and not the pub.

Following the slight disappointment from Hertford Arms, I decided to venture to the edge of the city centre, up Chapel Hill to Hagues.

There may not have been many inside at the time but things lifted for me when I got the Guinness.

Was glad to see a small dome again and the head this time did not touch the harp. Taste was nice and a fair amount of shtick was left also. Another sport for Lisburn Guinness seekers!

My next Lisburn pub was only a few seconds walk from the last. After a good start at Smithfield, I was hoping Hertford would be up there with the pints too.

The atmosphere was just the same here and also had a fire lit but I'm afraid to say, the black stuff was not.

The head was a little overdone as it only just touches the harp. It also did not have a dome at all, just a very flat top which was disappointing. To finish this off, there was little to no shtick at the end. 👎

Only the taste was alright and the staff were great too but Guinness is clearly not the most popular drink in Hertford Arms.

This pint may lack the creamy dome you'd hope for. However, being one of Comber's central bars, McBride's offers you a pint with a fine taste and fair shtick. A popular sports pub also, especially of Irish Rugby fans! 🏉

To begin, pay a visit to one of Belfast's most decorated venues in it'slively Cathedral Quarter, the Duke of York.

The pint may have a smaller cream dome but has perfect temperature and serious shtick at the end. You'll have great craic here!
