Lets do halloween again on saturday night

30/10/2026

Tonight, police had to attend a fight involving a group of young people, believed to be aged around 14–17, just three doors up from The Chapel. Frankly, we’re disgusted by the behaviour.

On an evening when people should be enjoying themselves, we’re once again dealing with groups of youngsters drinking and causing trouble on the street.

We appreciate the officers who attended, but where is the visible police presence to help prevent this happening in the first place?

Local businesses and bar staff should not be expected to police the High Street or take responsibility for young people who are not our customers. Parents and carers also need to know where their children are and what they’re doing.

A disturbance near a bar does not automatically mean it came from that bar. Please don’t confuse trouble on the street with what happens inside our venues.

Battle deserves a safe High Street—for residents, visitors, businesses and young people themselves.
