Rory takes the keys to the refurbished Cross Keys pub in Nottingham! 🗝️

Our new Management Partner Rory Calladine has taken the reins at the popular city centre pub following a £100,000 investment.

🗨️"I was instantly drawn to the pub and as soon I discovered it was available in a partnership with Punch, I jumped at the chance." 🍍

Regular guests at The Cross Keys will instantly notice the pub’s traditional feel and special characteristics have been retained throughout but that a complete refresh has taken place. 💫

We have reopened the Keyworth Tavern following a quarter-of-a-million refurbishment 🔥

The Keyworth pub in Nottingham, run by our Management Partner John Francis, had been closed for 5 weeks while we tore out the bar, stripped the pub back and replaced everything with new, modern furnishings. 🤩

Great work by everyone involved in the transformation 🥂

🎄 Remember this? Our very first Christmas Light Switch-On in 2023 🥹❤️

That night was everything I want the Fox to be. Families, music, kids, laughter and everyone just so bloody happy.

Now it’s my 4th Christmas here and we’re going bigger. More lights, choir, food truck, Santa, Grinch, naughty elves, the lot. 😂✨

Truth is, pubs are struggling. Really struggling. Everyone’s feeling the pinch.

So this Christmas, we’re doing what pubs do best. Bringing the community together and making some bloody lovely memories. ❤️🦊

It’s one of the biggest rivalries in English football, with local pride, and three Premier League points on the line.

The Beeswing in East Cowton is hosting its 13th ‘Glastonbury’ festival to raise money for end of life care at a nearby hospital.

Newly married couple Gareth and Jamie Furness have take the over The Bay Horse Inn in Pickering. 🔔

The pub has received a £400,000 investment and Gareth says it has been very well received by locals. 😃

“We are seeing more locals returning to the pub, faces that haven't been seen here for many years and we are seeing them on a regular basis... The refurb has really put The Bay Horse Inn back on the map and firmly at the heart of the Pickering community.” ❤️

We’re getting a brand-new interactive dartboard and a bigger, better-quality pool table at The Fox & Hounds, and we’d love to get some proper teams together!

Can anyone point us towards the local leagues, when they start and who we need to speak to?

The last two weeks’ inspirational double Grand Idea event winners show how integral pubs are to their communities. Congratulations to:

🏆 The Duke of Cumberland, Kendal. The team raised a staggering £3,750 for Anthony Nolan Stem Cell research through Sam Fest. The event was held in memory of local resident Sam Roberts, who sadly passed away from stem cell cancer just days before his wedding. They hosted live music all day, complemented by stalls selling sweets and candyfloss. Guests also enjoyed a darts competition, as Sam was an avid darts player.

🏆 The Cricketers Team, Gillingham, also arranged a charity day. This time it was for a children’s cancer charity. It was a true family event with a bouncy castle, raffle, games, refreshments, stalls and live music from the Jaywalkers rock and pop band. Together they raised an incredible £4,414 for My Shining Star Children’s Cancer Charity.

🏆 The Hen House, Cannock, shared another emotive story. A local, Keith’s father, sadly passed away from Motor Neurone Disease. He asked our MPs to arrange a raffle to raise money for the charity. They turned it into community event, timing it to coincide with the JD Hoe Down, payday weekend and their anniversary. The event supported Motor Neurone Disease charities, exceeded fundraising targets and helped strengthen local connections.

🏆 The Woodlands, St Helens, hosted a sponsored walk, family entertainment and other fundraising activities. The community came together to raise £1,300 for Prostate Cancer UK.

These pubs show what it means to do well by doing good.

🔥 RIGHT… WE’VE MADE AN EXECUTIVE DECISION 🔥
(Sounds very professional, doesn’t it?)

The kitchen will be CLOSED FOR JUST TODAY. That tiny kitchen is a hotbox in the middle of winter, never mind this heat—it regularly reaches 40°C behind the line and 50°C+ during heatwaves. I love cooking, but I don’t particularly fancy cooking myself or any of my staff 😂

We’ll be back open tomorrow as normal 🧡👩🏼‍🍳

The pub is still very much OPEN with the cheapest pints in the land, the best vibes and our big b**r garden ready and waiting! 🍻☀️

And while I’m here—please be considerate to ANYONE grafting in pubs, restaurants and kitchens today, not just us at the Fox. A little patience and kindness goes a long way when they’re slowly being air-fried at work, we’re all bloody hot and bothered together 😂🦊
