Expect folk with earth beneath its fingernails, a little blues in its boots, beautifully played acoustic music and the warmth and wit of a musician who has spent a lifetime gathering songs and making them his own.

Opening the afternoon is CRAIG JOINER, bringing expressive guitar playing, heartfelt storytelling and beautifully crafted songs. Two musical journeys meeting in one very special little room.

THE CANCER TOOK MY VOICE FOR A WHILE… BUT IT NEVER TOOK AWAY THE MUSIC!

ONE VERY SPECIAL CHARITY CONCERT — AND A CHANCE FOR ME TO SAY THANK YOU.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON 21ST NOVEMBER 2026

FUNDRAISING FOR MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT & ROSEMERE CANCER FOUNDATION — WITH A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO BLACKBURN ENT.

Earlier this year, my world was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with severe throat cancer affecting both sides of my throat and my larynx. After more than 50 years of singing and performing, suddenly I was facing the possibility of losing my voice altogether.

What followed was a month of daily cancer treatment at Rosemere in Preston, followed by two months of being unable to sing, recovering and wondering whether I'd ever get back on stage.

BUT THANKFULLY, THE TREATMENT WORKED. THE CANCER WAS GONE.

And I will never, ever forget the incredible people who helped me through it.

BLACKBURN ENT — the fantastic medical team who looked after me from the beginning.

ROSEMERE CANCER HOSPITAL, PRESTON — the extraordinary doctors, radiographers, nurses and staff who treated me every day.

MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT — whose wonderful support means so much to people facing cancer and their families.

These people do remarkable things every single day, often without the recognition they deserve.

SO NOW IT'S MY TURN TO GIVE SOMETHING BACK.

I've put together a very special fundraising concert, bringing back some of my old musical mates from the past 30 years for one intimate afternoon of proper rock ’n’ roll.

JOHNNIE 'GUITAR' WILLIAMSON — former Titanic guitarist and my bandmate in both Creedence Clearwater Revived and The Animals, alongside John Steel, Mick Gallagher and Jim Rodford.

CHRIS ALLEN — original co-founder of Creedence Clearwater Revived, with credits including The Animals, The Troggs and Denny Laine.

WALLY DAY — Lancashire 1960s beat legend and the rock-solid backbone of the band.

VERY SPECIAL GUEST SIMON HOUGH — former lead vocalist of Big Country, Denny Laine band member and original co-founder of Creedence Clearwater Revived, joining us for a handful of songs.

PLUS BERNARD SOUTHERN — former Linda Gail Lewis sideman, opening the afternoon.
