THIS SUNDAY NIGHT IN BARNOLDSWICK

If you were there in the 90s, you'll remember exactly where you were when Britpop ruled the airwaves.

This Sunday evening, we're delighted to welcome the incredible Chris Helme — the unmistakable voice of The Seahorses and the man behind some of the most memorable songs of the era.

As lead singer, songwriter and frontman of John Squire's post-Stone Roses band, Chris helped create anthems that still sound as fresh and powerful today as they did nearly three decades ago. Songs like "Love Is The Law", "Blinded By The Sun", and "Love Me and Leave Me" became part of the soundtrack to a generation.

Check out this classic track and remind yourself just how special Chris's voice really is and how powerful his songwtiting is:

This is the original voice, performing these songs in the intimate surroundings of Barnoldswick Music & Arts Centre — exactly the way great music should be heard.
We only have a handful of tickets remaining.

THIS THURSDAY NIGHT

How on earth do we still have tickets available for this one?

Grammy Award winner. Two-time Blues Music Award winner. Ten-time Blues Music Award nominee. Musical Director of one of the world's premier blues festivals. A man described by Walter Trout as "one of the world's great rock and roll, blues and soul saxophone players" and by Mike Zito as "one of the premier sax players around."

And he's coming to Barnoldswick this Thursdat Night.

Not a theatre. Not a festival stage. Not an arena.

A room where you'll be close enough to see every breath through the horn, every nod between musicians, every ounce of soul that pours from the stage.

Jimmy Carpenter and his phenomenal all-star band bring a glorious mix of New Orleans second-line groove, deep Southern soul, Memphis-style R&B, jazz-soaked blues and late-night swagger to Barnoldswick Music & Arts Centre this Thursday night.

His latest album Just Got Started hit #3 on the Apple Blues Chart and #10 on the Billboard Blues Chart, earning reviews such as:

⭐ "A masterpiece of musicality" – Blues Matters UK

⭐ "A winning set of inspired tracks that masterfully blend blues, soul and American styles in spades" – Rock 'n' Roll Truth

⭐ "Song of the year contender" – BenVeeBlues

This is music with class. Music with groove. Music with soul. The kind of music that transports you from a Pennine town to a smoky New Orleans club at 1am.

If you love great musicianship, killer songs, soulful vocals, stunning saxophone and a band that can make a room levitate, you simply should not miss this.

Tickets are still available – but honestly, we didn't expect them to be.

Grab yours now and join us for what could be one of the musical highlights of the year.

Sometimes music gives us heroes.

Not the kind who wear capes or seek attention, but the kind who quietly inspire everyone around them simply by refusing to let life's challenges define them.

Keith Xander is one of those people.

Born without a right arm below the elbow, Keith could easily have accepted the limitations that others might have placed upon him. Instead, he picked up a guitar and dedicated himself to becoming the very best musician he could be. Today he stands as one of the finest guitarists and frontmen on the UK blues-rock scene, astonishing audiences wherever he performs.

What makes Keith so special isn't simply that he plays guitar using a prosthesis fitted with a plectrum. It's that after a few minutes of watching him perform, you completely forget about it. All you hear is the music. Incredible guitar playing. Soulful vocals. Brilliant songs. Pure passion.

Alongside his brother Stu in Xander & The Peace Pirates, Keith has gone on to share stages with artists including Joe Bonamassa, Bon Jovi, Buddy Guy, Joe Satriani, Robben Ford, Bernie Marsden, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Manfred Mann's Earth Band. He has earned admiration from legends such as Steve Lukather of Toto, Rick Allen of Def Leppard and broadcaster Bob Harris, who described the band as "just awesome."

Yet for all the achievements, the touring, the albums and the international recognition, Keith remains one of the most humble, genuine and inspiring people you could ever wish to meet.

The BBC's Amazing Humans feature tells a wonderful story, but for those of us who have been lucky enough to witness Keith performing live, we already know what makes him extraordinary.

Not because of what he was born without.
But because of everything he has become.

A world-class musician. A gifted songwriter. An inspirational human being. And proof that determination, passion and belief can overcome almost anything.

Take a few minutes to watch this beautiful BBC feature. I guarantee you'll come away inspired.

THEY'RE BACK!

A few years ago Crow Black Chicken absolutely blew the roof off Barnoldswick Music & Arts Centre and ever since that night people have been asking me one question...

"When are they coming back?"

Well... I'VE MANAGED TO GET THEM BACK ON THEIR NEXT UK TOUR!

If you were lucky enough to see them last time, you'll know exactly what's coming. Massive riffs. Southern swagger. Irish soul. Blues-drenched guitar playing. Thunderous grooves. The kind of band that makes you remember why you fell in love with live music in the first place.

Think ZZ Top. Gov't Mule. Lynyrd Skynyrd. Led Zeppelin.

Now throw in a shot of Irish whiskey, turn the amps up to 11 and let Crow Black Chicken take over the room.

These guys have shared stages with legends, played Glastonbury, opened for ZZ Top and built a reputation as one of Europe's finest hard blues rock bands. Live, they are simply phenomenal.

If you like your blues dirty, your guitars loud and your rock music played with heart and soul, this is the gig for you.

TWO OF THE FINEST ROOTS MUSICIANS IN BRITAIN RETURN TO BARNOLDSWICK
There are some artists who don't simply perform songs... they carry stories.

This October, beneath the quiet Pennine skies, two true masters of their craft return to Barnoldswick Music & Arts Centre for an evening of music woven from the threads of blues, folk, country, soul and Americana.

Dave Kelly – founding member of The Blues Band and a musician whose remarkable journey stretches back to the British Blues Boom of the 1960s. A man who has shared stages with the likes of Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Son House, Buddy Guy and John Lee Ho**er.
Christine Collister – blessed with what The Times famously described as "a voice personally delivered by God." From touring the world with Richard Thompson to becoming one of the most revered voices on the British folk scene, Christine possesses a voice that can stop a room breathing.

Together they create pure magic.

Just two extraordinary musicians, breathtaking harmonies, beautiful stories and songs that have travelled through generations, carried by the winds of blues, folk, soul and country music.
Expect echoes of The Band, Emmylou Harris, Stax, Tamla Motown, The Everly Brothers, Elvis Presley and much more, all performed with warmth, humour, passion and soul.

If you've ever sat in a dimly lit room, drink in hand, and felt music transport you somewhere else entirely... then you'll understand why evenings like this become treasured memories.

This is exactly the kind of night Barnoldswick Music & Arts Centre was built for.
