This is my last order… and here’s why.
I wanted to show what actually goes into creating treat boxes like this — not just the ingredients, but the time behind every little detail.
From baking and making cakesicles, shortbreads and fondant decorations, to chocolate-dipped donuts, edible prints, assembling and packaging… it all adds up.
When I worked out the real cost, even paying myself minimum wage with no profit for the business, it made me realise just how much handmade work is hidden behind every box.
And to earn a reasonable wage AND actually make a small business profit, the price would need to be much higher than what I charged.
I love how cute they are and do enjoy creating things like this, but sadly the numbers simply don’t work.
So this one feels a little bittersweet — but also like the right decision.
