The Bushel & Strike is feeling particularly cosy at this time of year, making it an inviting place to spend a few hours.

Something rather pawsome is returning to The Bushel & Strike this month.

The Doll Zuki Maine C**n Cats experience is back, and this time you'll get to meet some very special little guests – 18-week-old kittens who are sure to steal the show (and probably a few hearts along the way!).

Join us at The Old School House at The Bushel & Strike on Saturday 14th November for a little feline fun.

Two sessions available:

We might not have started the Christmas celebrations just yet, but it's never too early to start planning how to see in the New Year!

Join us at The Bushel & Strike as we say goodbye to 2026 and welcome 2027 with a little bit of 80s style.

We're taking you back to a decade of big sounds, bold colours and unforgettable music for an evening of food, fun and friends.

The celebrations begin with delicious canapés and neon cocktails, followed by a retro-inspired 80s feast. Then it's time to hit the dance floor as we transform into the Electric 80s nightclub, with DJ Syco taking you through an eclectic mix of synthesiser, electronic and dance anthems from one of music's most iconic decades.

Expect great food, fantastic music and plenty of opportunities to relive the 80s (or discover them all over again!).

The evening is ticketed, and the pub will be closed to the general public from 4pm on Thursday 31st December.

Tickets can be reserved now, with collection and payment available from Wednesday 4th November.

Did you know fish and chips weren’t rationed during the Second World War?

While many everyday essentials were in short supply, fish and chips remained a much-loved British staple. The government recognised the importance of keeping this familiar, affordable meal available to help keep spirits up during difficult times. Winston Churchill even referred to fish and potatoes as the nation’s “good companions”.

Back then, a portion of fish and chips was more than just a meal, it was a little morale booster. And we reckon it still has that magic today. Sometimes, all you need is good food, a warm welcome and a proper pub classic to put a smile on your face.

The seasons are changing, and so is our menu.

That means there’s not much time left to enjoy some of our current favourites, including this beautiful salt-baked carrot and beetroot tart.

Earthy beetroot and sweet carrot, topped with creamy goat’s cheese, lentils and fresh greens, bringing together a delicious mix of seasonal flavours and textures.

If you’ve been meaning to try it, now’s the time.

Blue skies outside, but there’s definitely a chill in the wind.

Luckily, it’s lovely and toasty in The Bushel. The fire is lit and warming the place up nicely, making it the perfect kind of day for a little Sunday indulgence.

A bottle of w**e, some delicious melted Camembert to share, or perhaps one of our much-loved roasts. Sounds like a pretty good way to spend a Sunday to us.

Whether you’ve been out for a walk or simply fancy a cosy spot for Sunday lunch, come in, get warm and toasty by the fire, and enjoy something delicious.
