Bass is back! Finally got our hands on some this week, so welcome to the weekend...we've got a full Friday range of six ales on the bar, including our four regulars, plus Timothy Taylor's Boltmaker (4.0%), and this week's special guest Woodforde's Nelson's Revenge (4.5%), a superb full-bodied best bitter.

Cheers!

Welcome to the weekend...for all you who used to enjoy Sunbeam as your regular tipple, we've got a bit of a treat for you as our special guest this week is Woodforde's Sundew (4.1%), a virtually identical golden ale with the same fruity, hoppy taste. Close your eyes and it could be Sunbeam...it sits alongside four of our regular beers, but still no Bass, sorry to say.

Cheers!

We're very pleased to say our old friend Sunjay returns to the Tav on Saturday 19th September from 9pm. His new album is released the day before, with a launch gig with a full band that night, but he'll be popping by for a solo set for us.
He recently appeared on the Radio 2 Blues Show with Cerys Matthews, playing live and chatting throughout the show, so we are really happy to welcome him back again as his reputation grows even more.

Cheers!

New beer (for us) alert!

Due to Brooklyn Pilsner being delisted to us, we've gone with a replacement pilsner from Staropramen (5.0%), a clean crisp lager very much in the classic pilsner style. Available from today.

Na zdravi!

Early post for the weekend as the 10th Ashbourne CAMRA Beer & Cider Festival starts today at 6pm, running through Friday and Saturday, noon opening those two days. 30 beers direct from the cask and 10 ciders/perries. A variety of local breweries and several from further afield, as well as cider producers from all parts.
It promises to be a filthy wet weekend, but please come down to the Town Hall and shelter (for hours, obviously) from the much-needed downpours.
We've got Roebuck Blonde (3.7%) as our local special guest this week, to sit alongside two more of their beers being featured at the festival.
Do come and see us before/during/after your visit to the festival, as well as many of the other fine pubs in town, and even if you can't schedule them in this weekend, don't forget the branch Pub of the Year at The Red Lion at Kniveton and the Club of the Year at the RBL, Parwich, both very much worth the trip out.

Cheers!
