XXL – TEMPORARY CLOSURE EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

After a great deal of thought, I’ve decided to close XXL for a short period of two weeks while I review the way the bar is currently operating and consider its future.

Over the past year, Guapatini’s has grown far beyond anything I imagined, and its success now demands much more of my time and attention. As a result, I no longer feel I can give XXL the time and care that you, as its customers, deserve.

A ship needs a captain and without a captain the crew will run the ship and the ship or flounder and you all deserve a captain.

XXL was my first business here and has been a big part of my life for years. I know how much it matters to have a dedicated gay venue on the island, and I don’t want that to disappear. For that reason, this isn’t a decision I’ve taken lightly

Rather than allow XXL to continue without the attention it deserves, I think it’s right to pause, reassess, and decide the best way forward.

Thank you to everyone who has supported XXL over the years. We’ll keep you updated.

Please do share this as much as you can, so everybody is aware. And forgive me if I don’t reply to comments below I need this time to process regroup and see what my next move will be.

To the customer who left his wallets and important documents in a client’s car last night, the client has left all of the things you left in his car at the Puerto del Carmen police station, which is next door to the Biosphera shopping centre at the top of the old town.

Due to unexpected staffing issues XXL will open at 11:00 tonight. but we will close an hour later we do apologize this was very unexpected

Tonight is the night that everything has gone up by one euro. We've been open over 3 years and never had a price change even though everything has gone up for us over the last 3 years considerably so although it sounds steep overnight. Spread over 3 years it really isn't and these posters have been on the entrance and exit door for the last 2 weeks or more. We hate doing this but after 3 years I think you can appreciate why. Wages have gone up electric has gone up products have gone up, along with water and bins and community charge and staff contracts etc and in 3 years our prices haven't changed

We'd like to offer a huge thank you to all of our customers past and present for supporting us over the last 3 years and for all of our customers yet to come.

XXL IS OPEN TONIGHT
Apologies for last night and the later announcement it was not until I entered the building at 9:00 p.m. that I realized there was an electrical fault but it has been sorted today

we are so very sorry due to an electrical fault with the emergency lighting tripping all the electrics we are unable to open tonight. Sorry for the late message only doubt out now trying to open
all should be good by tomorrow.

Lo sentimos muchísimo. Debido a un fallo eléctrico en la iluminación de emergencia que provocó un cortocircuito, no podemos abrir esta noche. Disculpen la demora en el aviso; ahora mismo estamos intentando abrir. Todo debería estar bien para mañana.
