Castle Malting is delighted to announce that from now on, we will be keeping in permanent stock hop varieties grown in Hauts-de-France, the northernmost region of France, with a long history and tradition of hops production, and a thriving craft brewing sector which adores brewing with local ingredients.

Cascade, Challenger, Brewers Gold, and Chinook of the finest quality are available in 5 kg packs of T90 pellets. They are all sourced from Coophounord – a hop farmers’ co-operative that was established in 1978 when hop producers of Nord-Pas-de-Calais decided to join forces in producing, certifying, and selling excellent quality hops directly to the brewers, avoiding intermediary dealers that would inevitably suppress the farmers’ price.

Currently, with a membership of 11 local farmers, Coophounord produces with care and commercializes about 97% of the total hops production in Hauts-de-France. At Castle Malting, we feel honored that the Coophounord farmers have put their trust in our Sales & Marketing team, in an effort to make the Hauts-de-France hops present and cherished in craft breweries all over the globe.
