Small World Centre

Small World Centre The Small World Centre is an accessible community hub for cultural events of all kinds.

In early 2014, the company began an exciting phase of growth and community programming by occupying a new facility – the Small World Music Centre (SWMC). Providing a place Toronto’s culturally diverse music community can call home. Located in Artscape Youngplace on Shaw Street, the 1,000 square foot performance space features quality staging and sound and telescopic seating to accommodate 70 peopl

e. The Centre regularly hosts intimate concerts, workshops, master classes, panel discussions, rehearsals, and multimedia productions engaging a diverse range of artists and cultural communities. The Centre has allowed the Small World Music Society to grow in new ways by creating possibilities in a way that only a dedicated physical space can. From long-term artistic processes, as a ‘creative incubator,’ to small-scale performances presented at the highest production standards, the Centre broadens the options for artists and audiences, and allows Small World Music to enhance its educational outreach and community engagement. An essential bridge builder between communities

The Virtual Concert Hall:

Fundamental to the vision of SWMC is the Virtual Concert Hall (VCH), a state-of-the-art video and audio capture facility. While the Centre excels at engaging small numbers of people, the VCH enables us to take what we do to a virtually limitless audience in the digital and broadcast realm, giving Small World’s activities a lasting legacy and deepening our engagement with our constituencies. With multi-camera high definition capture, and multi-track digital audio recording capabilities, the VCH functions on multiple levels. It takes SWMC programming ‘beyond the four walls’ of the space, builds the Small World brand exponentially online, gains attention of sponsors, provides career-building collateral for artists, and creates a lasting resource-base of materials, enabling continued enjoyment and learning through the innovative programs taking place.

SPLITTING THE MONEY MADE BETWEEN THE AND .

Come out and enjoy the music and make a difference. Any bit of the money YOU donate will help get the youth in our city, who are ON the streets OFF the streets and help provide the starving palestinian children in Gaza with food, clean water and healthcare that they need and deserve.

No child should ever not be able to access food, clean water, and healthcare, let alone not have a roof over their heads. This is happening HERE and in Gaza and it is unacceptable and wrong. For 8 months Israel has been committing genocide in and around Gaza, killing more than 15,000 Palestinian children. This death toll continues to rise as Palestinian children are dying of starvation in their parents arms, due to Israel’s ongoing bombardment and deliberate blocking of aid trucks from entering Gaza. END THE OCCUPATION NOW. END THE GENOCIDE.

IN TORONTO ALONE there are 1,500 - 2,000 youth who are homeless on any given night. OUR CITY is one of the WEALTHIEST CITIES IN THE WORLD, yet we have the largest homeless population in all of Canada. IT IS ESSENTIAL that youth get the help they need when they arrive at a shelter, and this doesn’t just include physical needs. 63% of homeless youth in Toronto experienced childhood trauma and abuse and they are now grappling with the mental health challenges that come from that. Mental health programs are just as essential in keeping Youth off the streets as are the shelters themselves. With the skyrocketing living costs and the increasing demand for services like Youth Without Shelter it is essential that they receive the proper funding that they need to help every single homeless youth that comes their way.

Thank you so much to .visions for the poster
