We are first and foremost a neighbourhood bar, and couldn't be happier with the one we nestled into five odd years ago. After taking over the Stanley, we were welcomed with open arms by some of the kindest customers, who show nothing but respect to our little venue and the people who work in it.

Couldn't be more grateful to be a part of a community like this one!

By Any Other is a family of wines with a commitment to waste-reduction, best practice and community. W**es are packaged as sustainably as possible, and sold as locally as can be, with the added bonus of delivering wines that have connection to the region they're made in.

The Mac Forbes X02 2023 is a beautiful expression of chilled Syrah from our favourite local region of Margaret River. Made with whole bunches for a savoury herbal quality that sits alongside a palate of dark cherry and violets. Sold by the bottle so best showed off to friends.

For those of you who've wondered where our name came from:

In the 70s, Jamaican-born Albert Gordon and his family (the faces in the photo-frame) owned a beloved pub in Cambridge, UK.

'The Midland' welcomed people from all walks of life, with zero regard for the social barriers of that time. At any given time, the pub would be filled with every corner of society- local priests, university students, primary school teachers, LGBTQI+ community, off-duty police, 'teddy boys', and 'navvies'.

Albert charmed local authorities into giving them a dancing license, until then such a thing was strictly forbidden in pubs, and all sorts of live music soon followed: disco, reggae, rock n roll and soul. Albert himself was particularly keen on a local steelpan band.

There's a lot to his legacy that we try to emulate, but most of all a place where anyone feels welcome is the kind of place we'd like to be.

We'll be open from 12pm - late Sunday, and then we're also shutting our doors Monday night for a well deserved staff party 🪩

Another new addition to the list: Apple Mac 🍸️

white rum - damaged goods apple - creme de cacao - macadamia liqueur - walnut bitters

One of the key ingredients behind this cocktail is the Smashed Apple Aperitivo, a tasty drop from one of our favourite (local!) producers who use unwanted fruit and byproducts to make delicious spirits with little-to-no waste.

Come give it a try!
